(10-24-20) That's right, over the past couple of years, all of the elevators at the Kiener Parking Garages in St. Louis have received full modernizations.
These elevators were originally Westinghouse when the garages were built in the 60s. In 1990, Long Elevator did a pretty heavy mod on these elevators replacing the relay logic controllers with their own microprocessors and fixtures. Around 2012, another mod was done on half of the elevators in each garage (4 total). This consisted of replacing the car panels with Innovation, redoing some of the cabs, and some other slight upgrades. The controllers and motors were left alone. In 2018-2019, Schindler did a full modernization of the east garage elevators, and now here in 2020, Advanced elevator did a full modernization of the west garage elevators. weird how 8 just got locked off in the schindlers with no obvious reason why, i wonder why they did that

Yeah it's weird.. It's almost like they closed off the roof but only from that elevator. You can still walk up the stairs.

It's sad that the Longs are now gone, but these elevator modernization projects are really cool. And I like the way this video is a tour for this whole garage.

It looks like they made a lot of improvements to the garages! That key system is so smart! Looks like a very secure place to park now, and isn’t as sketchy.

I miss the old, but both mods look nice. I tend to like the Advance mod a bit more than the Schindler mod for some reason (they both had a few issues). But I found it odd that the Schindlers displayed "S" and "5" the same. I've seen many Schindlers with the "S" with slanty lines. Interestingly enough, the distinguished British woman who vocally annunciates the floor numbers knows the difference even though the displays don't.

What's interesting is the old long elevators for "S" it showed a 5 and for 5 it showed the S with the slanty lines.

@@stlelevators Ah yes. I remember that now. But do you think these have separate logic for the floor indicator and the vocal annunciation for the distinction to work on one and not the other since Schindler voice can only say letters and numbers? i.e. a Schindler snobby British woman will say "floor L" while the Otis sexy lady voice can say "LAAAHHHHBIE". Otherwise I'd think the Schindler would say "Floor 5" for both floors...

The left elevator on the 6th and Pine part of the Kiener West Garage is in independent service I believe, if the indicator says OS

I actually checked that, and Independent was turned off in the car.

Well I don't know it could be doing, or it is probably in fire service. Very weird that the elevator was not functioning at the moment.

I believe it would say IS if it was in Independent Service. (If it was in fire service, it would say FS)

I don't know why it says OS though, is it acting like a computer right now? Probably after that video was flimed, they fixed the elevator and now it works even though you only got one of them.
