Imagine IF politicians like this guy could develop some EMPATHY about what regular people deal with EVERYDAY. But it's ONLY when it happens to THEM, that they stand up and see that changes are made to make people lives better.
it is actualy very hard to do that the human brain is not capable to see empathy of people that you personaly don't see that is why personal meeting are so effective
@@il_vendicatore I don't believe that. Human history is FILLED with stories about people we never met, yet we CARE about them anyway. Empathy is putting yourself in THEIR shoes. My point is, THAT is the thing that many politicians lose track of. Obviously I think your stated "theory" is total bullocks. It's just wrong.

I blame the public and not the senator. when a constituency elects a representative and then they turn a blind eye to him it's our own fault. It's our job to elect representatives who represents our ideals. And then it's up to us to make sure that our elected representatives are doing what we ask. The power we have if they are not doing an adequate job for us, is to elect a new official.

Does that justify impounding his vehicle at great expense in addition to the ticket? OF course not. And that cop was a liar. He didn't HAVE to impound, he could (amazingly), but the ticket was all he HAD to do. Police departments use the law like a bludgeon like this to steal your stuff. It goes directly into their department and the cop's own pocket.

Expired tags usually means expired registration, expired registration usually means expired insurance, in my profession. No insurance means financial burden and loss for anyone hit by someone with lapsed plates, registration, and insurance. Someone hits a pedestrian, bicyclist, motorist, or their property with expired tags, registration, no insurance then you'll have an understanding as to why this is in place. Then you'll be asking why this law wasn't in place. There's ZERO reason why ANY car should be on the road with you with expired tags, registration, insurance.
@Time Traveler 2025 I don't understand the thrust of your comment. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? The driver said, _"I pay my bills."_ But he didn't pay this one. In most (all?) states, you receive a notice in the mail, reminding you to renew tags. He didn't get it done.
@Jay C There you go again. But this time, there is no inference (By the way, congrats on the proper use of the word.), you pointblank said renewing one's tags is not included in _"actual adult responsibilities."_
So it takes "first hand experience" for lawmakers to actually take action on unjust and unlawful laws? Welcome to the "Land of the Free", Senator. This is a byproduct of YOUR work.
Jason Turner I completely agree. Also if he had known of this law before his “first hand experience” he most likely would of said well I guess they shouldn’t have let their inspection be out for so long. Funny how things change when the tables are turned.
Jason Turner hey is there any way to start a petition against a child support and get it into Congress to stop this crap system from violating the United States of America Constitution. Especially the one about taking away your driver's license that does no good for the child or the parent
garret lavigne Well if you go and talk to them and stay on a payment plan then you can keep your license lil boy. But when you avoid paying for your own child and another man or the government has too then why should you get a license. I have been there for my step daughter before she was born and still am. Her dad owes $50k in back child support and that is a drop in the bucket compared to what I have spent raising her. He only pays when they take his income tax or drops $50 in there and promises to start paying to get his licenses back or stay out of jail. And another thing is his daughter is just like him. She has cost me thousands in truancy cost, stealing and other expenses because she wont listen but I am still there for her because one day she will straighten up and reflect on how hard it was for a man to raise a child that is not his.She will appreciate it eventually. So no you dont deserve to call yourself a man or drive a car little boy.
Everyones situation is different and I think what Garret is trying to say is if he is unable to pay it before when you take away his ability to get to work he is definitely not going to be able to pay. So that helps no one.

It Arizona I put my car in storage when I was traveling and the state took away my registration without notifying me, so I'm pulled over and inconvenienced for tags I've paid for but were withdrawn. Apparently, the insurance company reports when you remove insurance for storage, but the driver is supposed to notify DMV or MVD - since the driver is left out of the process and not notified by anyone, this is poorly managed. @@Emilthehun Apparently, they pass a law the insurance company has to notify them, but they don't have to notify the insured who changed the insurance for storage. Then, the DMV should notify the insured when you start driving the car, but they don't notify anyone. In AZ. the DMV saves on postage and doesn't notify even when the tags expire. I guess they extend that "savings" on other notifications, too, because I never got any notice they were cancelling my registration - not for it expiring, but because they are thinking maybe somebody doesn't have insurance - they should check with the insurance company prior to canceling, maybe? And the insured should be informed. The computer age allows monitoring, but they don't have the system working properly. AND, worse, a clerk at the court says "these letters are very difficult to get" when you prove you have had full liability insurance the entire time = so they are apparently cheating good citizens out of $500 fines because they do not provide letters even if they PROVE they were always covered. Beyond those reasons, when a vehicle is impounded the Fourth Amendment does not apply. If the senator was a black man, the police would tear the truck apart looking for drugs, a gun, or money. If money is found, civil forfeiture applies. The cops keep the money. So you are going to buy a boat with $1,000 in cash. Your tags are expired. Well, you know the rest of the story.
