If you feel useless, remember, it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, thousands of innocent Afghan civilians, and 4 US presidents to replace the Taliban with Taliban.
Not just TaIiban with TaIiban. But entire 100% country controIed by TaIiban now (they didn't controI fuII country when USSR Ieft), and 87$ biIiions richer in equipment. Another succesfuI democracy tour. These women must be happy with democracy and freedom
Congrats Afghanistan. Your reward is famine, Sharia Law, no human rights, economic starvation, rebellion in the north, rise in ISIL, and I forgot, more famine.
look at these hypocrites! In the backgroung the EU and America have been destroying nations after Nations ,and they are worried about women and humanitirian issues in Afganistan.
Ashraf Qani the run away president of Afghanistan was a puppet who was assigned by USA just like every other president since 2001, he and afghan people were not part of the negotiation with Taliban when US decided to end 20 years being in Afghanistan and to escape from it just like Vietnam, they gave full power to Taliban, everything was made up by US
If you think showing women as a product is freedom then it is not freedom. Before opening schools and universities for women, we should ensure security for them. So that no one misuse them, like in the USA women are being misused by men every where.
There were 75,000 Taliban fighters, in a country of 40m people. If just 1 in 100 people had risen up, they'd have stomped the Taliban into the dirt. The harsh reality is that THIS is what the people wanted.
They have made no progress. Before the USA left the number of people living in poverty was 42 %. After taliban takeover this has gone up to 97%. They execute people for nothing. They have backwards sharia law. Women have NO RIGHTS.
@@chateaupig826 No, I was thinking about the other, much larger mass of bearded men, chasing your mom as she rolls down the backside of the donuts shop.
Yes bright spark -all the women have guns and could reclaim their rights 😒 start making sense . There are many millions who don't Want that kind of rule . Who enjoyed the freedoms , they no longer have . What's not to get ?
Just leave them alone... They suffered so much in the past. Now under the Taliban government...people enjoy safe environment at least. They have their own tradition and way of life..
@@Hans.Dewitt In this weak they even forbid women to go to public tourist desinations like lakes for recreation. And I wonder what is meant by "peace". When a Taliban let's some home owner be killed under a pretext because he wants that guys house and wife this news will surely not make it outside. No one will have the courage to investigate such problems. Just because you don't hear about violence does not mean there is none.
DW should had ask this question to USA, after 20 years of occupying Afghanistan & spending more $2 trillion $$$$ what had the USA achieved???? There is not much the Taliban can achieved or do with US led allies sanctioning Afghanistan & frozen their sovereign wealth. This is an unfair question to ask because if they had the $2 trillion and 20 years later I they will do much better than the USA did.
I feel soo bad for the women who have studied and worked hard just to have their future ripped away. This was really a situation where America actually helped and was doing good just to have it flushed away.
@@hamaarahof5712 Why would I need to? there is no such thing and there never was such thing as someone who can "talk to god" the only "god" is the biological programming built into every living organism in the known universe. there is no fate but what we make for ourselves. i know its a terminator line but it fits. Just like all Religion its used to control people out of fear of the afterlife. find your own spiritual path and one that doesn't involve destroying lives that are innocent.
Growing up in 90's Iraq under US enforced sanctions, I remember my mom had a gold necklace, every once and a while she would cut and sell a piece to supplement my dad's salary, and he was an engineer and we were considered middle class!! So before we jump into punishing regiems that don't align with our ideology, let's think about the innocent people that are actually feeling the pain.
Broad statistical data for various categories would be super helpful in exploring the question posed by the video title here. Sadly, the video cited precisely no statistics whatsoever.
Zealotry and indoctrination is an awful thing. Those who believe the end justifies any means, convince themselves that they can do no wrong, and so do wrong. Those who are innocent suffer the most.
@@pineapplesareyummy6352 I suppose it's a matter of perspective. @@Sq7Arno Well the way they tried to brainwash afghan women that living their hedonistic life will give them happiness was also cruel. We know the situation in US how more than half of you are on anti depressants and more of you are drug addicts than Afghan people.
You do realise how many civilians and children were killed trying to kill only a few “terrorists” under just a hunch they had nukes, Cus you know farmers in the middle of the desert would have nukes. Makes total sense but also oil the investments in oil prices had nice returns.
Completely biased and ignored their good deeds ( developing drug rehabilitation centre, excavating the largest artificial river, zero tolerance to poppy and many more)
'Developing drug rehabilitation centres..'. How ironic then that one of the ways the Taliban generates income is the production and the exportation of heroin...
What do you expect from Germanic people (the textbook definition, which includes Angloids, Scant-dressers, Icemen and Holylanders)? They're born with a superiority complex, and they have no qualms lying for their own gain. They'll tolerate Nazism in Ukraine just because Russia is a more fearsome threat.
The main problem is Pashtun tribes and Hamid karzi the former president of Afghanistan the don’t allow another ethnic minority group to make Afghanistan better because the want make own pashtunistan . shame for them Pashtun don’t have any history and they don’t allow women to educate themselves
How do you expect a country to advance economically if it is subjected to sanctions? Your own country is in big trouble and is not under sanctions or been occupied for twenty years as has been Afghanistan.
It probably would end up trading with other sanctioned countries eventually. Based on the current trajectory, USA is going to sanction all non allies eventually.

Taliban milestones after 2 years: Rise in ISIL attacks, more provinces are revolting mainly due to the presence of Afghan army remnants and local warlords, tension with Iran and extreme famine. Yeah truly a great achievement I guess we can say Afghanistan is not only the graveyard of Empires but unfortunately also the graveyard of its people.
Can you think of any institutions that the good westerners, who liberated the Afghan people 20 years ago, have built-schools, hospitals, universities, or markets?
Not much in terms of new technology eithet. That sewing machine hes selling thats like a 1800 singer offbrand from taiwan( chinese knockoff garbage of a 200yo technology) and he had this probably for a few generations so its not even new.
Some would say the US needs to send the army to help them again. But not only do we know how that ended last time, it's also something the people over there need to sort out for themselves in order to grow as a country. Better for them they one day rid themselves one way or another of those heathens and barbarians.
Nation building through violence doesn't work. The only currently successful organization that promotes democratization is the EU. It's a combination of the effect of having a successful democratic neighbor, which causes democratization, and economic incentives to democratize and reform the economy and law structures to get more access to the EU. As countries synchronize their laws with the EU, they also gain more access to the market, as such a small business that could only sell to 100 customers inside their country, can suddenly reach thousands of customers, turning a hobby into an actual viable business.
@@ayoCCthe EU was by the consequence of military deafeat and massacres. Tho oppression cannot change the minds of pepole there needs to be a solid basis in rule of law whic sometimes needs to be upheld whit violence. We all remember how pacificst change gets crushed in tianmen Square.

The problem Isn't intervention it's occupation the US purged the local anti Taliban forces and replaced them whit crooks and kleptocratic despots when It first intervened. Democracy Is like a flower. Roughly 45 percent of the G.D.P. and 75 percent of government spending was foreign aid before the US led. So in reality there is no debt from the USA to Afhanistan, but debt from Afghanistan to the US. The sanctions too just cover trade in arms and travel bans, there are no sanctions that are targeted at Afghans civil economy.
If only a moslem country can help each other maybe it can solve this problem in Afganistan, but in fact there are an exception for several nation and moslem country to donate economic fund.
Afghans have a VERY "Old School" way of thinking. And until they broaden their views and quit being so stubborn, I'm afraid this nation and it's people will continue to suffer and get left behind by the rest of the world.
