Afternoon Railfanning in Waycross, GA! 

Well, well, well.
Hey Ya'll! I got some good practice for my southern accent in Waycross, GA - The Railroad Heart of the South! With the southern hospitality we've come to expect, and incredible train traffic, Waycross was one of my favorites on this trip!
Located 240 miles south of Atlanta, but only 30 miles north of Folkston, Waycross is the hub for all freight traffic in the south. CSX even with their PSR mindset couldn't afford to abandon Waycross, and why would they? At any given time you'll hear horns, bells, freight cars, and dispatchers giving EC-1s and planning meets. This is the hub!
I thoroughly enjoyed Brunell St. and Nichols St.- Brunell St. is the south side of Rice connection, and one of the busiest during the daytime hours.Highly recommended spot by many.
