INGREDIENTS :
Banana bread :
Ripe bananas - 3
Eggs - 2
Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
Caster sugar - 1/2cup
Vanilla sugar or extract - 1 tsp
Plain flour - 2cups
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Melted butter - 100g
Oil - 50ml
Sour cream or yogurt - 3tbsp
Baking powder - 2tsp
Cinnamon - 1tsp
Walnuts & almonds
Victoria sandwich:
Butter - 225g
Caster sugar - 225g
Vanilla sugar or extract - 1 tsp
Eggs - 4
Plain flour - 225g
Baking powder - 2tsp
Cheese cake dessert :
Cream cheese - 200g
Caster sugar - 50g
Vanilla sugar or extract - 1 tsp
Eggs - 1
Cornstarch - 1tbsp
Milk - 50ml
Scones :
Plain flour - 500g
Caster sugar - 80g
Vanilla sugar or extract - 1 tsp
Baking powder - 4tsp
Butter - 50g
Milk - 200ml
Eggs - 2

I have no idea who you are but I would gladly have a tea party with you just to appreciate the beauty of life. I think if you did something like this the inner little girl would come out in any of your friends. I had tea parties with my only daughter when she little and now she asks if I would have tea time again just for the fun of it. Enjoy your day . I recently made your Victoria Sponge for a Birthday and it is absolutely beautiful, such a lovely texture and light and wonderful flavour. It is the best sponge I ever made, so thank you. I just subscribed to your channel because I do Afternoon Tea in Western Australia quite often for friends and family. I am going to give your scones a go later today, see how they come out. I have never made a good scone in my life yet, so lets see. Your presentation and tutorials are second to none, I really enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing it all for us.....I also have the same pattern tablecloth to yours, I love it !!

As an American (U.S.) who lived in the U.K. during the 1970s, I would say the practice of warming the teapot (rinsing it with hot water) comes from the fact the British homes were cold. When I lived there very few homes had central heating. There was a heater in the fireplace and one feed the meter with shillings! I saved them in a jar next to my bed.

Warming the pot was always done to make sure the tea was as hot as possible when the boiling water was poured on. Simply that. From the U.K.

when cutting tea sandwiches, freeze the bread for 15-30 min or until firm enough to cut without squishing.

Me too!!! And I added Brazil nuts with the walnuts and almonds. Just delicious! I only regret not having that gorgeous table setting and all the rest to enjoy my tea. Not to mention that marvelous garden! Thank you so very much for the recipes!

With the exception of using newspaper, which is full of chemicals that bake into your delicious food, the recipes look great. Maybe use parchment paper instead

@@myfancybaking Thank you for the correction.🙂 I initially asked Siri and was told 240 grams. I also went to King Arthur’s website where a chart shows measurements for just about anything. For all-purpose flour, one cup is equal to 4 1/4 ounces or 120 grams. After seeing your reply, I did another search and found two other sites, “Convert Units” and “Baking Like a Chef”, which gave the same result you indicated. So, Siri and King Arthur Baking were both wrong?!😬

Why the news paper? I am English and I have NEVER seen a cook use newspaper! To my mind this is a silly addition. Victoria sandwich is usually baked in two separate sandwich tins. And I have NEVER been served banana bread in an English tea. The sandwiches are not of the quality I would expect either, packeted supermarket ham and cheese is a big no, no for me.

Darren McGrady, former chef to Britain's royal family, had an interesting take on cucumber tea sandwiches. He peeled the cucumber, then cut the slices longwise. Then he folded the long slices to fit the bread. Once he sliced down to the seeds, he discarded the cuke. He said nobody liked the seeds in their sandwiches.

Yes, I watched that too. He made those sandwiches with cream cheese and cucumber sliced lengthways. Do you remember the "jam pennies" he made? He said those were a favourite of Queen Elizabeth when she was a child.❤

@@Veronica705 Yes, I remember those round, butter and jam pennies. My favorite part of bread is the crust, so I'd probably just slice the sandwich in half. I visited England in the 80s, and had a ham sandwich. It was a single, thin slice of ham with buttered light bread. I couldn't get over how good their butter is.
