I rode it. It's not that scary. I mean, what scares you the most is accepting the fact that you're going to have to get on it if you don't want to be seen as a chicken. That's really the hardest part. Once you've done that; Afterwards you feel like you can accomplish anything. Sounds stupid but that's how I felt.
Gojida Spin Cycle was terrifying the first time but it became relaxing for me. It was my favorite ride. I went on it four times but I found Aftershock terrifying at the first drop but the least terrifying going backwards. I only went on it twice. It was near the bottom of my favorites list.
@@keylime_pi3.143 I just went on spin cycle with my gf for the first time a week ago and the only thing that kinda freaked me out about it was the harness seems kinda sketchy. Also, my gf forgot she had her cell phone in her pocket and it slipped out while we were completely upside down, however it freaking landed in a bush right next to the ride and it freaking survived! No cracks whatsoever. Literally watched it fall from almost 100ft up. Shit was crazy lol
OHMYGOD! The Aftershock is.. Amazing. I went to Silverwood almost every weekend last year. We used to ride it up to 13 times in a row. Never gets old. Going up before the first drop, the view of the mountains and everything is AMAZING.
"Aftershock isn't your average coaster" To be fair, it kind of is considering its very heavily cloned around the world, compared to many other coasters...
I went on this a couple days ago. It's not as scary as it seems. It's only scary at the first drop, after that you're going so fast you can barely tell you're upside down and the cobra rolls just jerk you. This ride is more fun then scary.
EXACTLY!!! I just went on the 25th of August, and I remember that when I rode it 2 years ago I hated it!!! Mainly because my dad forced me on it even though I wanted to warm up with timber terror, this time he actually let me warm up, and I LOVED it
Driving to Idaho tonight! Going to Silverwood for the first time tomorrow, and it’s my first time going on a rollercoaster too!! Can’t wait to try aftershock!!! After a few easier rides😅🤘🏽
Taylor Gordon And don't forget it breaks down a lot. Last time I was there the ride got stuck twice. People were stuck hanging there for at least an hour each time.
i went on that ride it was the funnest ever but that wwas 2 years ago and im going on oct 24 and I just watched this video and now i have butterflies in my stomache. Its an awesome ride but u made it seem so scary
I rode this as "De Ja Vu" at Six Flags over Georgia, and there's nothing like it!!! STRAIGHT DOWN and STRAIGHT DOWN BACKWARDS, back row is the best being pulled up!!
God i was shaking the first time waiting in line for this. It was worth it but at the same time VERY nerve wracking 😂 (My friend promised to buy me a funnel cake to get me to go on)
When I went here I was too scared to go on it. I heard that someone's metal belt thingy came off and I am terrified of that happening to me. I am going to Silverwood sometime in June so hopefully I can face this amazing ride. Oh, and I cant wait to go on Spin Cycle. They were testing it when I went to Silverwood last May!
Guys I’m going to silverwood soon. I need help because I wanna go on after shock but I have questions. How bad is the g force? What does it feel like? Does it bump your head around? Does it give you headaches? Does it hurt? Please answer!!!
I was on this ride a couple of years ago and my hands were shaking when it was over. This is one of those rides where you are praying the harness doesn't malfunction... cause it's a long way down....
I live close to this park, I have been too scared to ride lately, but I am sure to ride this coaster sometime in the summer. I recommend panic plunge and Timber terror for adrenaline junkies.
When I went on there I screamed the whole time. So scary! But that did not stop my sister going a second time, by herself, in the front. I was too scared to go on again!
I go to silverwood every summer and it has been 13 years my dad was on the second ride of the aftershock it was awesome such a fun ride and was nick norton in this video I swerve I saw him lol
I think he meant the Deja Vu from Six Flags Magic Mountain is now the Goliath at Six Flags New England. This one (Aftershock) was the Deja Vu from Six Flags Great America. He was correcting his previous comment.
This ride was at SFMM, but they took it out, because it had a lot of technical issues. They're really gassing this ride up in the video, but it's not all that great.
Renee Lewis Actually this one originally operated at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. It was down a lot at that park. Silverwood was aware of the problems before they purchased it and fixed it. Now it runs without any issues.
This ride was ALWAYS down when it was at Great America. I think I only ever saw it running once or maybe twice over its lifetime. It was delayed from first opening for a while because of problems with the cars. It didn't surprise me when they got rid of it. They probably spent a fortune keeping it up and running.
Last summer I went here and I'm 13. The first Time I went on it that first drop scared the crap out of me. After tho I ride it 6 more times. I really recommend this ride it's sooo crazy!
That's weird, I was just at great America 2 years ago, and they still have this ride, only its purple and yellow. How in the hell does this place have it now if it was still at great America in 2010?
Aftershock was my second coaster I have ever rode and I thought it was the best, well it is for the Pacific northwest. But then I moved to ohio and went to cedar point. The raptor at cedar point has the loop and cobra roll but has 5 times more after that. Silverwood has the best coasters in the pnw, and the best rollercoaster manufacturer there too so when is silverwood going to get an rmc. An rmc at silverwood would really bring more people there. Rmc wouldn't break the bank, either a ground up, or modify one of the wooden coasters like steel vengeance at cedar point, or a rmc raptor model.
Idk what a rmc coaster is but I agree that they should add another metal coaster, but even bigger. Something which is atleast 50ft taller than aftershock would be cool, although I really doubt they have the room for another coaster, unless they scrap the corkscrew and make more room
Just went to silver wood and had to ride aftershock! The first time I rode it was amazing!! It's soooo fast I rode it at least 3 times!'the line wasn't very long so that was good :)
This rides notorious for breaking down, but its not usually the rides fault, quite iften its the operators. I work at an amusement park and a lot of the rides require a button/pedal, etc, to be held the entire time and if let go, the ride stops immediately. And they have to slowly bring it down
Can any girls/women tell me how bad the pressure on your chest can get. I'm debating whether to go in this, so is chest pressure normal, does it stop anytime? Hope this isn't a weird question? Thanks :)
BEST ride at Silverwood by far. Except when you wait over an hour in the line FINALLY get on and then stuck on the first tower & shuts down for the rest of day.
i went on this ride at the end of last summer in aug. 2013 im from Alaska and this was my fist time at a theme park and first roller coaster ride too... it not for the faint of heart ... i don't know if i will ever go on one again .... :S
I love this ride me my dad and my twin went on it some years back and me and my twin we actually too small to go on but we did anyways😂 we are actually going to Silverwood in 2 days
The reason why its called aftershock is bc qhen u get off you can still feel yourself on the rollercoaster like its been 4 years i still have a faint feeling
I wen't on this ride TODAY because I went to silverwood with my class and my friend was laughing at me the whole time because I was screaming so hard and loudly I thought I lost my voice! I thought the ride was gonna break and I was gonna fall and die and my friend was just sitting there chilling ya know? and then like 2 other people in the back were yelling out ''OMG I WANT MY MOMMY!'' it was two guys and they looked like they were 23 xD
I went to silverwood 2 weeks ago because my family only lives 8 hours away and u went on the cork screw and tremors and many other rides then the next day we went to the water part oh and the magic show if you can't go to Disney land or wor,d I really suggest silverwood
I went on this a few days ago. Its not as scary as it seems. Sure I was trembling with fear but the only scary part is that first drop. The G's you feel is amazing. After that that your going so fast you dont feel anything else
I went on that last year for the first time. I closed my eyes the hole time and opened them and I was upside down. I was scared but went back on it till I almost puked. Sooo fun but the first time is scary.
I promised myself I wanted to try an inverted coaster at one point, but this just turns me off. I'm on a Silverwood trip right now, and I'm avoiding the coasters like the plague.
