They do love each other. A toxic relationship doesn't necessarily mean that the couple doesn't have any love between its members. The characters already pointed out a few times that GerMike do love each other but their relationship is falling apart anyway due to constant fighting and lack of communication.

OH IT ACTUALLY HAS ITS OWN STORY So this scar was originally supposed to be a big part of Gerald's adult and ghost design. Which I scrapped later-on because, as you can see, his skin (from the time he was alive) is pretty flawless. Originally, he got that scar from Jean once he got kicked out of the house. Jean pushed him down and he hit his face on the side of a table. It got scrapped later-on and now he got this scar diffrrently. Basically, Amelia was making a salad when he was a child. He was running around the kitchen at that time and she accidentally scrstched his face. That scar wasn't bad, but he was a dumb child who constantly re-opened it before it got time to close. It closed when he was like 19

No, Gerald is the husband that Mike left. That's the reason Gerald is so upset at Michael all the time. They reunited after death and live together because they never got divorced

@@Mika.kj2 Michael was never supposed to marry Gerald. But when Gerald proposed to him, he didn't have the soul to reject him. Which basically ruined Gerald's life because if Mike rejected him, he would not be there with them right now and would still be alive. William refers to Gerald as Mike's "lover" because I didn't want to use the word "husband" twice in the sentence. Mike wasn't cheating on anyone with Gerald, he is the husband and the lover. The only reason that sentence looks weird is my weird choice of words😭
