Michael Oliver clearly blew his whistle again and asked the ball to be moved to where he wanted it to be placed, indicating clearly that doku had played it to the wrong place. By the letter of the law, that’s a yellow. It’s that simple. There’s no nuances like ‘he’s just passing it back’ stated in the law

I think the ref needs to give a certain grace period of a few seconds so the player can process the whistle before giving a card for kicking the ball away. Trossard probably didn’t fully process the call and was just trying to clear the ball before half. Giving him a yellow for kicking the ball so soon after the whistle is bullshit, just like Van Persie’s yellow card vs Barcelona in 2011…

I thought it was harsh at the time. But he was booked earlier. He should have been yellowed for the foul. He kicked the ball away after the whistle but if he was sent off for that, it’s a little harsh to me. He should have received the second yellow for the foul on silva.

I think the consistency is missing, but ffs, is Trossard stupid? Arteta must have told the team to be careful cuz the refs have an agenda against him, and man goes and does exactly what his mate got sent off for just a few games back. I understand the whole consistency, but to not voice frustration at the player shows the natural bias. From a neutral's position though, Walker should have been allowed to get back into position. The fact is the ref is the one who called him out of position. Only fair to let him get back..... Pretty sure if it was Timber and City's goal from Savinho having space down his side, Arteta would've been livid....
