@@Practiphile I need something that will reproduce the sound of an overdriven tube amp for my sixties and seventies music. I have tons of smooth beautiful iem's, and they make an overdriven Marshal sound smooth and beautiful, which it isn't.
I enjoy the format of your reviews and the metrics of your scale. Some may find a 0-3 scale frustrating, but I think it's just right for how subjective these kinda products can be. One thing to note: drums and cymbals ARE tuned. Snares have the most accessories I've seen to tune them, however we tune our crash, ride, hat, kicks, and toms with dampers and mutes. Mic positioning and setup also does a lot to change the sound. Finally your audio engineer serves as one last point of tuning.
@@lawrencewang3327 thanks for watching! I'm glad you like my metrics..Yes the drum kit is tuned. And the hardest to mix is the cymbals because they bleed..that's why I like to use them as a reference..so it's either properly using an overhead or use a hammered.. but that's what people don't get.. a produced song is heavily eq'd because it just doesn't sound good if you dont..😅
It's sad that by the time I really learned about the production process I had spent so much time and money chasing the dragon. Now I spend more time checking the recordings themselves than new output hardware. Peeking behind the curtain has reduced my compulsive audiophile wanderlust.

I'm coming from a 7Hz Salnotes Zero. I'm looking for an IEM around this price point($100~) with a sub bass focus and textured bass with overall better technical performance and more detail compared to my 7Hz Salnotes Zero. My main genres are EDM and Pop. Do you have recommendations that fit the bill?
The sets that came to my mind initially were mest mkiii and dunu sa6 mkii.. although the dunu has more air and treble coloration, I would pick this one over dunu, just because of natural treble. I think it's also close to og letshueor ej07
I think their are about the same.. probably the biggest difference would be the treble.. and I do think this is better than the p5, just because it is cheaper, and it it has more 3d dimension to it..😇
Hi! I'm a Truthear x Crinacle Zero:Red user. Would an Aful Explorer upgrade be good? I mainly listen to EDM, mainly Trance and subgenres. From time to time i listen to Pop, Anatolian Rock, Rock, Metal, Rap, Hip&Hop, almost all music styles. Do you think an upgrade would be right?
@@Practiphile Thank you!! Okay, i have a question for you. Do you have an IEM that you can recommend up to 150-160$, generally successful in every aspect, without too many major shortcomings? Zero:Red for tuning style but maybe a little bit brighter IEM. I like Zero:Red but i wish it was a bit brighter, just like the original Zero (blue version.)
@@eneszgun I can't think of any because this one is one of the few I ranked high under $200.. but maybe the Simgot super mix 4? But I can't really suggest that because I haven't heard them yet. But you can ask other reviewers..thanks for asking tho..😇
@@interstellar4660 it's hard to say. But most of the time, the 1k IEMS have that "realism". I advise against going directly to 1k IEMS as there are other sets that are cheaper and more worthwhile..
If you're seriously contemplating getting a kilobuck just get one. You will spend a kilobucks worth of money buying midfi sets just to end up buying one anyway. If you think you will inevitably buy one then do your research and ensure you know what your tastes and preferences are. After a year of being very fixated on audio I purchased the Monarch MkIIIs and I absolutely adore them, they are perfection to my ears.
Nova sounds cleaner! But I think this has more realistic stage than the Nova. This is also more musical than the Nova. If you play instruments, you will like this! :)
