I'm I stuck with a wild bird for a pet? Just 6 days ago, I received one who is about 4 months old. He hasn't been reared at all- hand or otherwise, and it's very disappointing. He won't eat his fruits or veggies, and wants nothing to do with my hand. No stepping up for him at this point. Does anyone have any words of encouragement? Is she too old to train already?
Gr8 Teagazr keep watching youtube for how to tame one. Just keep trying to get him used to your hand. There are a lot of beneficial videos here on youtube
ik heb er vroeger thuis ook een gehad, was heel erug lief maar naar verloop van tijd ging ze papier snipperen en tussen haar vleugels mee naar haar kooi nemen en iedere keer een nestje bouwen en eieren leggen... ze werd ook vals daarna dus is ze naar een echte liefhebber gegaan waar ze diverse echte nesten met jongen heeft groot gebracht, ja ik denk nog vaak aan haar... onze kat was er bang van met haar duikvluchten in de woonkamer zo op de kat af... hoe oud kunnen ze eigenlijk worden?
@Mesoefly yes they NEED to have at least another parrot or an human staying with them most of the day, they can die of sadness when they are alone too much time.
@UsernameSkittle Of course they need a partner!!!!What is more important - to have a tame bird or a happy bird! To have only one would be very egoistic and not good for the bird!! PS: I have four of them ( 2 pairs ) and so I know what I am talking about,.
mijn agapornis haalt veeeeeeeel agressiever uit naar alles wat je voor zijn bek zwaait of als je hem uitdaagt met een blaadje papier. als hij eenmaal zo agressief staat moet je goed opletten voor je vingers( buiten ik want naar mij bijt hij nooit) :D (eigenlijk doet ook nooit agressief tegen mij tenminste als hij weet dat ik het ben die hem plaagt) enig idee hoe dit zou kunnen komen dat hij naar andere mensen zich zo agressief gedraagt als ik in de buurt ben?
@@teamdark5848 Or you cut the wings or set them inside cages without freedom. Both are not possible. Having a bird flying across the house all day long would be problematic. They can bite and destroy your books, and other things you have inside the house or apartment. They can crash into the windows, so it is a problem. If you are out of home, working for example, and someone without experience with lovebirds come to visit your family and let an window open they can fly outside and nevermore comeback. As domestic birds they possibly would die soon in the city, without food and water. Any choice is not good for the birds, my solution was no more lovebirds in my house. I didn’t need to cut the wings of my last two lovebirds, because even with the cage open, they didn’t go far from them, they get in the room where the cage was and in the second cage I set outside the house in a kind a construction I made for him. They had a cage inside the house and with a hole in the wall of the house another cage outside, so they had two places to stay. In the second they could have sunlight and some vision of the garden in front of my house. Everything was ok for years, and one day I was not at home and some parents got here, scared the birds, which star flying across the house. Summing up, both birds die that day, and I decided don’t have lovebirds anymore.
