I'm in a cold zone 5b but I have good fast draining sandy loam that's rocky. I heard I might be able to grow it. Do you know if it can handle prolonged snow cover? I wanted to incorporate useful succulents into my permaculture plans. I have zone 4 hardy prickly pear seeds that produce spineless pads and fruit. more like irritating hairs instead of spines. I love agave as a multi use plant for soap, medicine and sugar. Also maybe even make pulque or tequila from it. do you know of anyone using it to make mezcal? Thanks for the video.
Most of the A parryi species can stand low temperatures of 20 F, and my best experience is with the truncata species. I have had them covered with more than week of snow without any damage. But I will still be careful to start off especially with young plants, as they may need time to get accustomed to the their environment. It is certainly worth the effort. As far as tequila is concerned, I associate it with A tequilana in order to try and make the drink. But I have across lots of people in print trying to make the mezcal drink, but has never seen practical demonstrations. Maybe it is worth a try. I wish you good luck as I have never attempted it myself..🎉🎉🌹🌹
Hi James, your videos for plants are very meaningful. I personally love parryi var truncata very much. But I'm in China and there is hardly to find the true parryi var truncata. So I'm here to ask if you have the channel to by the seeds or small pops of truncata.
Que pena que no los podamos conseguir ni conocer aca en Ecuador, es decir, sí tenemos pero no de esos tan bonitos, chiquitos, me encantaría conocer esta plantita Será que aunque sea la semilla nos pueden vender acá?
