This might seem pointless to a certain degree but I would really like to see, If Koei Tecmo and Nintendo so desire, an even more ambitious prequel in which we travel to the world of Hyrule 10,000 years ago, a world where the hero is victorious in battle and a good look into the development and construction of the Sheikah technology. If the developers see this as too much of a hassle, then here's another idea (still ambitious, but still a possibility), An animated series showcasing the Hyrule from 10,000 years ago. This could be done using the same animation engine used in BOTW/HW:AC's cutscenes. With Nintendo stating in the past their desire to expand their reach to other markets, they could take advantage of the immense popularity of the BOTW series to capitalize in other markets

It wold be nice to see who took part in the battle of 10.000 years ago. But at the same time, I also kinda like the fact that it's shrouded in mystery and treated more as kind of a legend.

@@jeshuarestituyo284 It would be interesting to see what led to ganondorf being left in his mummified state, as well as which iteration of him are we to deal with (i.e ocarina/windwaker, twilight, or a new reincarnation developed for the era of the wild).. Another question that is to be answered is what other purpose (besides deceiving Link and Zelda) could have ganon have had by creating a new body in a cocoon within the sanctum of Hyrule Castle.

I've brought this up in a previous episode but I do believe that there might be a gameplay section on the Great Plateau where Purah, Robbie and maybe even Impa protect link from Ganon's forces as he rests. Something I forgot back then is that there actually are Guardian remains all over the Plateau so there rid evidence to support that they attacked the plateau at some point. Assuming this hypothetical battle takes place shortly before Zelda confronted and seal Calamity Ganon then that would explain why the assault on the plateau ceased long enough for link to reawaken. If all of what I say actually is true I think it would serve as a much better final battle for Impa given the direct relation to the events of the Great Calamity.

I JUST commented with a similar thought/idea - before I saw this! #greatminds. ;) I imagine a mission where we play as the two Shekiah and we have to take link to the Great Plateau. Once link is in, we fight our way back down...realize the Plateau is getting overrun, so we collapse the tunnel leading up - which is how we find it in BOTW, 100 years later. :)

@Silvio_Nightwind 4 года назад
Something I'd like to mention is that while it's not stated in the video, in the game itself Purah does say that she herself carried Link to the Shrine of Resurrection when he fell in Blatchery Plains. It's possible that Purah MAY be a playable character and if so, this will possibly retcon the 2 male warriors who find Link and Zelda in Breath of the Wild to being either just Purah, Purah and Robbie, or Purah and another Sheikah warrior. This in and of itself interests me, because in the new trailer shown to us, we see that Zelda WITNESSES the fall of the Akkala Citadel, meaning her path to Hyrule Castle HAS changed, as she never went that far north (according to Creating a Champion) to actually be able to see the Citadel. So the game could show us the different perspectives in the form of many different battles towards the end starting with Purah's journey to the Shrine of Resurrection to Zelda witnessing the fall of the Citadel and the rest of her Journey to Hyrule Castle. TL:DR, I'm excited for this game and I can't wait for November, as I'm sure the rest of us can't as well. (Edit: I am wrong. Rewatching the Champions Unite trailer again has enlightened me. We SEE the Citadel fall, but we're never shown if Zelda is seeing it fall, I've ASSUMED she did. It looks she may be crying at the Castle. Forgive my Hype, like the rest of us I'm sure, I am a huge Zelda nerd with various dreams)

Not to mention that she's a grandma who cares for her own granddaughter, meaning she had a kid that (probably) died at some point, too. Her offspring probably didn't exist during the Age of Calamity, and definitely didn't die during it because they'd have to live long enough to conceive Paya, so the plot point will never be touched upon, but it still sucks conceptually that she had to witness the Calamity and her own child's passing. I would love to see your thoughts on the two Sheikah that took Link to the Great Plateau! 😊 I've always been drawn to the collapsed tunnel that leads up/into The Great Plateau and the Shrine or Resurrection. Was this tunnel collapsed/filled/flooded to protect The Temple of Time and/or Shrine of Resurrection!? Was it collapsed by the 2 Sheikah as/after they placed Link in the Shrine of Resurrection to protect him!? Imagine playing as the two Sheikah that took Link to the Shrine of Resurrection: You place him in the Shrine…then fight off Guardians that have already made it to the Plateau. You make your way back down to the gate/tunnel and realize you are outnumbered/overrun….so you self-sacrifice and blow up the tunnel leading up/into the Plateau!!!

I think some guardians followed thru and after clearing the Great Platau they seal the only entrance available so no one from the outside can enter, and only the hero could get out. IDK but it would be cool to protect the shrine while Robbie and Purah get everything done and finally clean up to leave the Platau in peace protecting the last hope of Hyrule.
@kingdaniel3519

I think you might be a little confused on Impa's role. Ever since the original game, she has nearly always been Zelda's attendant. Most likely, she will be in a similar role as before, which would mean she would live in the castle alongside Zelda. As for Pura and Robbie, if only there were a place close to the castle that they could use to perform ancient tech research. Some sort of lab-like building... As for their living arrangements, it would make the most sense that either they lived in the castle along with Impa, in West Castle Town (being closest to the RATL) or simply stayed at the lab. Looking at a map and the in-game location, the ancient tech lab had many segregated rooms and would've been more than large enough to accommodate a few people staying there. This is how I think the scenario would play out: Robbie and Pura are at the RATL while Impa follows Link, Zelda and the Champions from the Castle on the way to Mt Lanayru. Along the way, they pass through Kakariko village where Zelda instructs Impa to await their return. As the day wears on, the events of memory #15 take place and the Calamity begins. Link and Zelda return to Kakariko Village on their return to Hyrule Castle where Impa rejoins them. They arrive at the Castle, as seen in the AoC clip you used. Zelda, being distraught at the sight, fears for her father's life and the lives of her people. They watch as corrupted Guardians keep pouring from the Guardian Pillars, seemingly endless. Impa convinces Zelda that Pura and Robbie may be able to help since they're researching ancient tech and they may have either a weapon or knowledge that could prove useful against the Guardians. Zelda concedes that the Guardians must be contained and, before leaving, they agree to rendezvous at Kakariko Village if things got any worse. Impa arrives at the lab and begins helping Pura and Robbie collect their research. On the North Hyrule Plain, they can see Guardians flowing out through West Castle Town and onto Hyrule Field. Containing the Guardians has failed so returning to the Castle is out. So is going through the Breach of Demise and across Hyrule Field to return to Kakariko Village. Instead, they turn back and move east towards Raru Settlement. Immediately upon reaching the settlement, Guardians that had escaped containment from Castle Town and that were destroying the Forest Park begin crossing Helmhead Bridge and attack the settlement. The Shiekah trio flee south to the Thims Bridge, east of the Crenel Hills while being chased by Guardians. Everywhere they run they are chased by more and more Guardians. They pass close by Goponga Village where many of the pursuing Guardians break away and begin attacking the village. They ascend Sahasra Slope where they're able to lose the few remaining Guardians before safely, but wearily entering Kakariko Village. Meanwhile, Link and Zelda, who have been battling to contain the Guardians at the Castle and Castle Town, now realize they're being overrun. More and more corrupted Guardians are erupting from the Guardian Pillars by the second. They flee Castle Town through the Main Gate, heading towards Mabe Village. They run towards Rebonae Bridge but can already see Guardians swarming across Crenel Peak. They head south, abandoning the roads jammed with people and Guardians (memory #16), but every crossing they approach is already being overrun. As they approach the Bottomless Swamp, they can see smoke and hear explosions coming from Goponga Village. They decide if they can't reach Kakariko Village then they should make their way to Fort Hateno instead. They continue moving south as they finally get ahead of the wave of Guardians and are able to cross Proxim Bridge at East Post. Deya Village doesn't know about the attack yet. Zelda wants to to warn them when Link notices the flood of Guardians is closing in. As Link and Zelda flee through the Dueling Peaks pass and run across the Big Twin Bridge, the more agile Guardians catch up and begin attacking. Link fights off the Guardians across Ash Swamp and Blatchery Plains as he leads Zelda closer towards Fort Hateno. The soldiers amassing there are now their only hope of survival. Then of course, we get to see the events unfold in memory #17. They are finally overwhelmed by the pursuing Guardians on the Blatchery Plain, Zelda's power awakens, Link falls and they are both parted for a century to face their inevitable destiny.

I think I'm more in the camp of not wanting to have a playable Purah and Robbie section after the battle at Fort Hateno. Before that I'm all for them being playable, but by the time of Fort Hateno we are at the climax of the game. While it's important to get Link to the Shrine of resurrection we already know he makes it. How he makes it there seems less interesting than the others stories. As far as we know by that point the Champions are trapped inside the Divine Beasts, and we still have to finish their stories. We can also play as Zelda with her powers fully unlocked, but at the cost of having lost nearly everything and everyone important to her. Those routes seem far more interesting to play through at this point IMHO.

In the announcement trailer for Age of Calamity, the clip where Link is fighting someone with an electrical weapon (the clip before the champions die) I think he’s fighting a Ganon blight, Since Ganon sent a blight after every champion. Except Link wins. Also I really hope we get a Phantom Ganon fight on horse back or a chase sequence near the end of the game (something like the headless horseman)............... I think I’m getting way too invested into this. :I

7:00 If you watch the gameplay videos, however, there is apparently a section where they must rescue some people from the Royal Ancient Tech Lab and escape through the road that is full of fossils just west of Carok Bridge. We know this is post-Calamity because the boss of this stage is a corrupted Guardian. According to the BOTW map, that area is called the Breach of Demise.
@MonsterMaze
@MonsterMaze 4 года назад
It could still be pre-calamity though. Since on the actual day of the Calamity, Link and Zelda aren't supposed to be in that part of Hyrule. It could also just be a guardian going rogue. Which has happened before. The Royal Tech lab was according to creating a champion, seemingly destroyed on purpose. Maybe they took the lab down after the incident? The time of day also doesn't really match for that section to be post-calamity. Plus, Daan who i watched the livestream with pointed out that Link's level in that part of the game was very low, so he speculated that is was early on in the game.

What if the entrance to the Great Plateau was purposefully imploded to keep the king safe from the horde of guardians coming after him? He was buried there, so it kinda makes sense that they would do that to keep him safe, but ultimately fail after he succumbs to wounds from the guardians that did get in. Idk, just an idea.

This is my theory on why King Rhoam's grave is on the Great Plateau: King Rhoam escaped the Castle and along with some others and fled to the Great Plateau. They were pursued and eventually defeated while taking refuge in the Temple of Time and the Eastern Abby. The Great Plateau offers physical defense due to its elevation and has only one entrance, is close to both the Kolomo and Hyrule Garrisons as well as several surrounding villages and the entrance could be collapsed to deny any would-be invader from easily reaching the Plateau (as currently seen in the game). Also on the Plateau, the only places we find Guardians are the Temple, Eastern Abby, and around the northern edge of the River of the Dead leading towards Mt Hylia. Picture this: The King is in his secret study hidden in the Library, writing what would be his final entry in his diary. The castle begins to shake and tremor! There's a thunderous roar as Calamity Ganon arises from underneath the Castle. King Rhoam and some soldiers quickly flee the castle through the hidden passage, down to the docks where they board whatever vessels can be found. Calamity Ganon corrupts the Guardians and begins his reign of terror and death. The King and his soldiers disembark and land near the Castle Town Prison, gathering everyone that can be quickly found. King Rhoam gazes up towards his once beautiful home as Calamity Ganon heaves another mighty roar. Already smoke and flames envelope the Castle and Castle Town. The screams and cries of the unfortunate souls still trapped inside Castle Town can be clearly heard above the din of constant explosions. The King and his people hastily skirt the western edge of Castle Town, through the Quarry and towards the Mt Gustaf road. They move south, passing close to the Hyrule Garrison and the Exchange. There they gather even more soldiers and citizenry. Soon, they come upon Gatepost Town and gather the last remaining people that can be found as they enter the Great Plateau gate. The King orders the entrance sealed as the weary citizens seek shelter inside the Temple of Time and Eastern Abby, hoping and praying for an end from this waking nightmare. The Guardians arrive at the Plateau and to the horror of everyone, begin scaling the outer walls with ease, even as the stone face crumbles under their weight. The King and soldiers fall back to the Temple. It is, after all, not only the birthplace of the kingdom but the most holy site in all of Hyrule. If there were any salvation or divine intervention from this terror, it would come from there. The Guardians surround the Eastern Abby, utterly destroying it along with the fearful people huddled inside. The Guardians begin to attack the other buildings. Soldiers and townsfolk alike fighting tooth and nail against the wave of Guardians. The Three Goddess Temples in front of the Temple of Time are destroyed. The Guardians are now advancing on the Temple of Time itself! King Rhoam now realizes this is the end, there is no salvation to be found here. He draws his sword and valiantly attacks the nearest Guardian but is mortally wounded by the mechanical monstrosity and is quickly carried back inside the Temple. The soldiers destroy many of the Guardians at the very steps of the Temple, but a Guardian slips by and destroys the outer wall. As it begins to climb inside the Temple, the King takes his last breath. The King's efforts were in vain but not fruitless. His final display of courage has spurred his weary people to new heights, fighting with a savagery and fury never seen before. The few remaining defenders rally against the attacking Guardians, crying in agony "LONG LIVE THE KING!". A few remaining soldiers collect the King's body and retreat along the Northern edge of the River of the Dead. A fitting name under these circumstances. Still fending off the last attacking Guardians while carrying the King's body, they make it to the river's crossing as the final pursuing Guardian falls. They cross but have no where else to go. They take shelter inside a cave underneath the waterfalls as they decide what to do next. They decide to bury the King on top of Mt Hylia where his grave can overlook the land and castle he once reigned over. One hundred years later, the King's spirit waits upon the Great Plateau. Waiting, for the fallen Hero to awaken from the Shrine of Resurrection to finally defeat Calamity Ganon and save his precious daughter.
