AoE2 is still pretty healthy. In fact, it's doing better than it has in years, maybe even better than ever.

Not to mention RTS historical wargames. Total War battles are too simplistic, Scourge of War is kinda clunky while Breakaway's Waterloo and Austerlitz need better graphics and debugging.

Yeah arrows have little trails in games since forever, idk how this design decision has even come to pass. Of course if you make units shoot proportionally sized arrows, they will be barely visible if there's no particle trail. But uhh.. archers shooting ballista bolts are a bit uncanny.

Pretty clear that there are a ton of new strategic folds in it. For example, the soldiers waiting in a forrest to ambush their enemies. Same timeframe but clearly they re-did a lot of the mechanics.

It looked like classic AoE to me, just cleaner graphics.
