I've got a plan for my Sylv army, very egyptian themed basically based around Galadrielle being painted up as Eset (the Egyptian Goddess of Magic) and Khepri (the Scarab God of Dawn). Should work real well, only issue is I'm not a huge fan of the "spirits within the trees" part and much prefer the living trees aspect which is kinda basic in terms of converting and painting.

Bustles were high fashion during the two bustle eras, the first being around 1868 - 1876. After this, the natural form dress became popular but during 1882, the silhouette given by the bustle became popular again but this time it came back bigger and more pronounced. This style of bustle died out towards the end of the 1880s. Source: am fashion historian building 1887 walking dress with a very big bustle

Love the video. I have to say I had a completely different experience with the Dryads. So many extra bits, not only for other models, but for the Dryads themselves. The one branch for the back is not enough. Most of mine have 2, and some with 3. I even have some growing from their ankles. Some have 3 arms/claws. There's so much you can do with this kit. And I have 30-50 in an army, and they are all completely unique. That's a testament to the awesomeness of this box of branches.

There's too many miniatures and too little time... I have a couple of dryads from an inherited Wood Elves Battalion (an old one from like 2004 or something), and I'm gonna paint a couple of them in different seasons I think. The Kurnoth hunters looks incredible and I'd get a kit, but I just know theyre gonna sit unpainted and unassembled for so long.. I've got sooo much to get roundto doing.
@jiado6893

For the high heels on the Tree Man, I wonder if they're meant to be like Japanese wooden sandals, called geta. The Pokemon Shiftry has those, and they have the vibe of "wooden old guy that hates you." At least, that how I view the one with a staff; Durthu looks like he got fashion advice from the Queen of Blades. I love how Alarielle makes so much use of leaves. So many nature spirit designs forget all about that, and just make giant golems or trolls made of wood.

Can't wait until GW starts putting out some more insectile units or wood spirit units with insectile symbiotes for the Sylvaneth, you know to help bind the insectoid parts more firmly into fitting the army rather than just being a 'why?' addition. Also expanding the rosters more because many of the new army rosters they seem to put out seem to be absolute bare minimum for an army which just makes me sad when they seem to have such epic ideas and themes behind them.
@CollinandBri

The funny thing about your undead sylvaneth is that they actually fit in to age of sigmar considering how the sylvaneth are just souls of various dead aelves held inside of various trees. Also the Dryads are I think one of the few holdovers from pre end times warhammer fantasy.
@gudboah4688

I have a pretty big Sylvaneth army and I love the range and the models are nive to paint. But I gotta say, the new sylvaneth wildwood is one of the worst models ever made by human hands. The branches are too heavy and mounted in ball sockets causing them to droop while drying and the fact the leaves are scuplted as part of the branch means you can even paint them seperatre.

I started this army on a whim. I bought the start collecting box for the treelord and dryads to use in D&D. I found them to be so enjoyable to paint that I decided to expand. The only thing I've found so far that's a slog is the awakened wyldwood and that's probably just because I did 6 in one go. Almost all of the kits have plenty of great leftovers. I even made my own branchwraith from all the extras in my start collecting box. I agree that most of the little bugs are kinda weird and seem superfluous, except for the ones on Drycha. They have their own attack rules and I prefer my models to have some representation for their weapons. Things don't have to be exactly like the box art, but for me, I feel like something should be visually representative of the weapon. I toyed around with a nest of sorts at her feet but found they looked better just coming off her arms, so I stuck with the expected assembly. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had a better way to handle that. It's just a limitation of my skills.
