I had a female Akita and she was naturally territorial. She was always on guard for any sound around the house and was always watching out the window. Great natural guard dogs.
You guy’s are all wrong. That Akita is saying to it’s owners it wants to go out side, and see the other dogs. Not aggressive at all. You can hear her beg in one of her pants, she saying please, and let’s go.
@King Pin Not every human??? Akita in full attack will kill any human within minutes! Are you kidding me, they are fearless animals! Akita = Never Scared , Humans are no match for American Akita, only knife or gun will stop them... Akita never accept anyone on his ground, only family, He will destroy any Robber !!!
American akitas are pretty territorial. I would know since I have an american akita mix and I've done research. My pooch is especially territorial when it comes to me due to my anxiety. Whenever my auntie brings over her dog (a whippet) and I pet her, my dog will come over and try to shove her away from me when I'm paying attention to her. I love my boy very much and despite being a big dog he's a big baby.
@@sportyspartan i think this dog is a good guard dog but not the best if i had a bigger piece of land i would have gotten 2 kangals. but akita is more beautifull and i got my hands full on this one already
I'd go with suspicious. Akita's are extremely suspicious of anyone or anything they don't recognize and will wait to see what you do once they let you know something's amiss.
@@happydays9259 I've had dogs for more than 40 years and I love my American Akita. He's an incredible dog and he's only just a year old. I'm curious how his disposition will change as he grows out of the puppy stage.
@@steveparish4209 l had 3 but the male was particularly aggressive toward other dogs , I socialized him every day but a doberman tried to rough him up at 5 months old and he picked it up and shook it like it was a cat ! Scared the hell out of me but I knew from there on he couldn't be off the lead . He was very silent and would wag his tail and wait for dogs to come in range like a crocodile !
@@lloydhunt496 wow. He must've been a big Akita! Mine isn't that large. He's about a year and a half old and weighs maybe 80-85 lbs. Perhaps he just hasn't filled out yet but he isn't a big eater either. I haven't had him around other male dogs so I really don't know what he'd do but he's fairly in tuned with my wave lengths. If I'm not stressed, he usually isn't either.
My dog is Akita Cross and very territorial over his house and garden but it’s good as makes us feel safe outside he’s just a normal dog can let him off lead and he is very friendly with other dogs too he lives with 3 cats who boss him about lol
Mines the same way, even after I tried to socialize her with other dogs as a puppy. She's fine with our Husky, but only b/c she has to be, she goes into straight alpha bitch mode at the sight of any other dog lol
I'm teaching my Akita to be friendly as my friend has a friend Akita and yesterday they met and there like best friends but still it's been hard to approach with no muzzle
Dionikis my dog lives with 3 cats so I’m not sure that’s true he is also very sociable with other dogs especially small ones but he is half Akita/Border Collie Cross he does run fast and catch squirrels though I hope he slows down as he gets older. He has a best friend a Rottweiler they meet up every weekend and play together they are both a sight to behold especially when they play fight they truly love each other.
I have 3 dogs. My female Akita GSD mix was here first from a puppy. Then when she was 6 months i rescued my male Golden Retriever GSD mix and now have a male American Akita my female and Akita get along great. My rescue and my other two cant be together.
So instinctive they behave like cats more than dogs, all cuddles and kisses inside house, and another animal outside in nature..They are primitive hard wired and very close DNA to wolves than most breeds ( appreciate what is...
it says: ‚ take me out I‘m in such an aggressive mood that I would like to kill 3 horses, and please I wanna listen to the Kill’ em all album from Metallica. where are my killer headphones?! Get them quick and close the curtains. Metallica is just for me. No other dog outside should see my joy listening to my favorite track ‚Horsedogs‘ from the same album. Ps: I bought a Makita last month.
