Agia Pelagia, Αγία Πελαγία (2024) or 'Saint Pelagia' is a coastal village on the island of Crete, Greece. Agia Pelagia is located 23km northwest of Heraklion, the Capital of Crete. Agia Pelagia is coastal resort with many good hotels and several beaches - like Lygaria and Agia Pelagia Beach - for tourists who visit the village during the summer months. Agia Pelagia was founded by the Minoan Greeks in 1650 BCE as the town of Panormos and later as Apollonia. Agia Pelagia has 450 permanent residents.
