I switched to a top load with no agitator. It sucks and I wish I could set it on fire. It is constantly becoming unbalanced during the spin cycle. It’s unbelievably frustrating. I would not recommend it.

Really? 'Cause my darn agitator washer constantly wraps pant legs and sheets around itself! Was thinking about switching out the tall agitator to the plate agitator.....

Mine has agitator and most of the time clothes get imbalance making weird loud sounds , I am planning to switch to NO agitator?

had agitators that also trapped lint in the central shaft, in a small mesh bag - that's good. Now I have a Westinghouse wash plate - where and how does it remove and expel the lint ??

It's not a waste of water if it gets your clothes clean. It's water being used for a purpose.

I’ve seen recently a washer which can accommodate both a washtub and an agitator. Can’t think of the manufacturer name but I do remember seeing this in an add. Not sure if you’d want this but there are models that give you both.

The difference between a V8 and 4 cylinder. I'll take the V8. The agitator wastes water, the non-agitator wastes money, because it doesn't work. 🤣 The best washers were made in the 70's and 80's and some are still in use.

I still have my Mom's late 70's Maytag Wringer Washer. Once in a while I still use it when I want my white cloths to be white. Nothing beats an old Maytag Wringer Washer. That Agitator really moved the cloths around.
