Bioenergy Europe's second video of a series of four dedicated to #bioenergy feedstock coming from #agriculture, both perennial energy crops and agricultural residues.
In this video we focus on the utilisation and valorisation of agricultural residues, notably deriving from olive oil production such as pruning, olive stones and exhausted olive pomace.
By raising awareness about the potential of the agricultural residues value chain and with the appropriate legislative framework, biomass derived from agriculture can play a key role in climate change mitigation strategies.
About agrobiomass:
With around 20% of the bioenergy feedstock coming from agriculture, both dedicated energy crops and agricultural residues can be utilised to produce #heat, #electricity and #biofuels. Agricultural #biomass represents an important and sustainable energy source although its potential remains largely untapped. Agricultural biomass is key to achieve Europe’s long-term decarbonisation objectives.
