Shmo, Josh, and Noah react to Agust D's "Daechwita" Music Video. Social Media, Apple Podcasts, Spotify: linktr.ee/millennialmen Music by Rylan: / rylanladion
@@gabymata9751 LMFAOOO!!! Right! Like how people say “ If you didn’t do anything wrong you don’t have anything to be scared of, but if you feel offended that proves you’re guilty of something!”
Every BTS member have a solo project and never dis other member. Even they are not showing of that they can do better than with BTS. They encourage each other to do a mixtape.
Yep, they all keep encouraging Jungkook to release his it's so cute 😭 and RM helped Jimin and Tae write the lyrics with their solo songs they released (Promise and 4 o' clock etc)
Suga may be the most “gangster” in the group, but he’s the softest when it comes to BTS. He’s what you’d call a tsundere. BTS are a brotherhood. They’ve been through thick and thin together and still live under the same roof even if they may hop between the dorm, their apartments, and their family homes. And just so you know: this claim isn’t based on delusions. Even some of their industry peers have noted that the group sticks together like glue.
This reminds me of Dispatch giving up on trying to get a scandal by following them around. I think them buying apartments were more of investments for them because Seokjin gave his to his parents.
@@nandhinisingh2514 I instantly just thought of when dispatch tried following Kookie to catch a scandal but all they got was him riding his scooter to the convenient store to buy banana milk!🤣🤣🤣🤣
So if anyone's wondering why he has a scar on the face, back then a person aho had a scar on the face could not become the king. So by this Yoongi is kinda saying that he did the impossible and became king when the odds were not in his favor.
@@ally7714 i just realized i made a mistake about the director credit last minute before you commented lmao, but yes the director of daechwita has been with them for a long time now, even made dynamite with them. the lighting director is the only one from Kingdom who took part in this MV
Suga said he wasn't targeting anyone, but that if anyone feels like they've been insulted thats their problem not his. I mean...if the shoe fits 😂😂 He also said 'I'm no weak pill popper like you" 🤷🏻♀️💜
Don’t get me started on how kpop Twitter was up in arms when this song dropped suddenly defending their favs 😂😂 the man didn’t say a single name but here you are exposing your favs 😭😭
this is the one of the most accurate interpretations of the music video storyline that i’ve seen and y’all captured what the characters were feeling in the mv
BTS is closer than an actual family, they would never make diss songs about each other. The other members, specifically Jimin, is literally yoongi's #1 fan and always promotes yoongi's solo work lmao
i don’t think they implied that, they said that some people might criticize the members saying like “oh you’re only famous bc you’re in bts! you would’ve never made it on you own”
BTS have their own solos, non of which is to show that their better with or with out each other. BTS totally loves one another. All their songs have in-depth meaning behind them .😌🤙🏼
I feel weird when people don't know the depth in bts and they try to scratch surface. Me sitting in front of my screen screening dude that's not the case let me tell you full story behind it!! Anyone feels this?
@@moonchild-bc6qk true even as an army of 5ys now I never assume about the meaning of songs that are ambiguous in topic and wait for their explanations on them . Let alone the relationship between each other or personal lives . I know western boy bands have a stigma of hating each other or something but I hope ppl stop associating these ideas with bts the ones that loves each other to death it's annoying sometimes but thank god for our essay long comments right 🤭
I love the comment about how the king's hair becomes less poised and the king is becoming more erratic. It's actually based on a historical king in Korea that was so paranoid about usurpers, he would kill people. Yoongi's basically saying his old self became greedy and paranoid in the rapping world (as he rose to the top). And his new self is here to kill the tyrant he had become.
"Daechwita" is a genre of music that they play during a ceremonial walk of a South Korean king. That's why in the lyrics it says "Daechwita, play it lowder". Also he says "I ain't no weak pill popper like you"! And in the end he basically shot the greedy side of him which was portrayed by the king!
The king portrayed something different. I like that interpretation, but Suga himself explained the story of the song, meaning behind both characters and there are also videos for all the references in korean history
I bet one of you had "Daechwita Daechwita" stuck in your head at least for a while. Also Get Well Soon Min Yoongi, we will miss you a lot in these coming days!
He doesn’t say he’s a pill popper, he is calling out all those other rappers that are 😂 he says, “I was born a tiger I ain’t no weak pill popper like you” and “so that’s your excuse for popping pills, Cry me a river you just got no skills”. They all have solo songs in their albums and solo projects that they work on on the side. This track is part of Suga’s, aka Agust D’s, second self-produced mixtape. I recommend you take a look at the other rappers solo stuff, RM’s track “Joke” from his first self-produced mixtape and J-Hope’s “Daydream” from his self-produced mixtape.
@Kyra Nimbalkar yep! His surname (family name, whatever you want to call it) Min is the surname of the royal family, but there are thousands of Min in Korea 🤦🏻♀️
The King is the old Agust D. When he released his first mixed tape, he was a bleached blond. The black hair Agust D is him today. Good observation about the hair going from neat to messy. Agust D/Suga has said that his first mixtape was so much angrier, and he has grown since there. If you want to see a MV from the first mixtape, "Agust D" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Y_Eiyg4bfk.html I have been told that BigHit has no problems with reactors using any of their videos, as long as the BigHit intro is played.
Popping pills referred to his haters. He was dising his haters, NEVER his BTS members. They love each other like real brothers. Thank you for your reactions, real accurate interpretation of the video. Keep doing it, you will fall in love with BTS and become Army real soon. Enjoy the journey.💜💜💜
I feel like they meant it was a diss towards people who say he's only famous because of bts so he's like look i can do well on my own too but not a diss towards bts
Fun fact: In most ancient civilizations the thumbs up or down was performed by a ruler, either during a court ruling or an organized death tournament. The thumbs up meant that the man who fought or was on trial for death could continue living, thumbs down meant he would be put to death. Another fun fact, min yoongi (Agust D, suga, lil meow meow) is one of the last living descendants of the Min dynasty. So, technically if the dynasties were still around, he would be a ruler or aristocracy. Also, "Daechwita" is a traditional song that would be played on the arrival and exit of someone of the ruling family, especially during the Joseon era, which is when this video is taking place based on clues throughout the MV, such as the dragons EVERYWHERE. Throughout the video you notice that there are MANY dead and headless people. This signifies the beginning of the tyrant's rule, who further cements it by disrespecting and even stepping on the people who bow to him. The man with the black hair hides his identity with a Sa Gat instead of a regular Gat, because it was bigger and used quite often to hide facial features. As the story progresses, he is given a red coral and jade key, (VERY precious materials in the Joseon era) which signifies he is a member of the royal family, as only the highest of aristocracy can waste their money on a key made from these materials. The one giving the key to him is speculated to symbolize a member of ARMY. As he continues on, he gains the support of the working class people and organizes a coup. When he confronts the king, the king lets his hair down, which was a BIG no no in the Joseon era. Men of the aristocracy always wore their hair up, and this is seen as a sign of the king finally losing it. He sentences the rebel to death, but as he is about to die, the executioner, who has been by the king's side all this time, gives a Hwaseung Chong (Traditional gun in the Joseon era) to the rebel, who then kills the king, signalling the end to his tyrannical reign. MOST IMPORTANT FACT: The two men fighting in the back are Jin and Jungkook who wormed their way on set and asked to be in the music video lmao
His studio is also called “Genius Lab” and the gun model he used at the end is a Colt Army model, which shows that BTS never forgets Army. The song is from his second mixtape D-2 , and he made his first mixtape in 2016 when he was blonde. In the music video, Agust D killed his older self (blonde hair) whose dream was to be a king/boss, because now his dream is just to be grounded. The song is about his haters in general (no specific person), some of whom think he is a sell-out to rappers since he is part of a kpop idol group like BTS. All the members of BTS have their own solos but so far only the rappers have released their own mixtapes, but at least 2 of the 4 vocalists are working on their solo albums right now too, while still putting out group BTS work as well. Agust D is Suga spelled backwards plus DT which stands for Min Yoongi’s (real name) hometown of Daegu Town. Suga recently had a shoulder surgery and is recovering right now.
112220. Chilaxin101 , "... the gun model he used at the end us a _Cobalt_ Army model, which shows that BTS never forgets Army. " You probably mean the COLT gun manufacturing company, not the color "cobalt". And, if you pause the video at the second that the woman with the 6 buddies opens the box that holds the key, her 3 fingernails that are visible have the metal looking letters A M I on them, the Korean word for ARMY.
Y'all need to react to *"UGH", "Ddaeng", " Baepsae"* and *"Cyphers" 1, 2, 3 & 4* Fun fact: *JinKook* aka *Jin* and *Jungkook* is in this *MV* fighting lol *@ **2:09** - **2:13* The end of *"Daechwita"* starts *"UGH"*
Suga was an independent, "underground" rapper before he was scouted by Big Hit to be part of BTS. He apparently received a lot of shit from people from his former scene questioning his "authenticity" as a rapper after he agreed to be part of a boy band.
@@caseytakanashi1397 Thank you for taking the time to add to my knowledge of BTS! Is there a source that you would recommend I can go to to find out more, such as a book, article, or video?
Agust D /Suga is hella talented. That guy is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea and produced his songs on his mixtapes except for three songs but he did all the composition and lyric writing for all his songs. He is known as a genius producer and also collabed with big artists and produced songs for them.
Daechwita is a masterpiece. The song is fire but the video just elevates it. Suga is a genius. One of many reasons why BTS is at the top of their game.
I believe it was suddenly improvise by jungkook since he was hit by that stick of jin and played a fighting scene haha if I'm right he supposed just going to look back after jin did but since it was a funny scene that they did it was included in the vid haha
I am so impressed by Shmo’s interpretation. I’ve checked many other reactions until I reached yours. I can say that you are the best at spotting details and hidden meanings and your explanation is on point. I am jealous of your insight. I like smart people like you. Thanks for the video.
All BTS member have their own solo song. Sometimes it is for BTS album and sometimes it is pure solo project (they upload the songs on SoundCloud to listen for free, no physical album). They are very supportive of each other and will happily help other member to write their solo song if needed.
In case you guys don't know, Daechwita is a traditional form of Korean music which used to be played upon a kings arrival meaning to show of the kings power. In the video, Suga aka Agust D has two characters, the 'King' Suga and 'bottom class' Suga. King Suga is a tyrant and he has everyone kneeling down and he beheaded people who have complaints while bottom class Suga is like Suga's personality when he is with the other members (BTS) and with the help of ARMY. In behind the scene Daechwita episode, Yoongi (Suga) said that the King Suga in the MV represent the 2016 Agust D and that bottom class 2020 Agust D had to kill him to take over. Basically, this song is about his duality. Suga when he did solo stuff, we called him as Agust D. He is famous of his duality where Suga is his soft side and Agust D is his hard side. The video is not all about him bragging when there is nowhere up to go (it is in the lyrics if you have turned on the cc). He literally says he now wants to look down and keep his feet on the ground which I believe means he doesn't want to stay fascinated by being on top, but keep himself true and not lose himself. That's why the 'bottom class' Suga killed the 'King' Suga at the end of the video (the scene that you missed at the end of the video). Anyway, I love the reactions guys!
I love how the guy on the right immediate pull a 'stank face' on when the music started. That's when you know its good.. Love your reaction and your interpretation of the song and video.
I like that you guys offer theories when you watch videos. Some reactors are afraid of getting things wrong and offending us. As long as people aren’t rude or bigots, we enjoy open dialogue! In case you haven’t noticed ARMYs are chatty!💜
Ok I just found your channel last night and well pretty much watched your BTS reactions and I love your love for Rapline. Suag aka Agust D is my bias for sure, lyrical genius and savage but most real to me in the music industry. He writes songs that he doesn't want to hide his true feelings and doesn't care of people's reactions. Thanks for giving us so much BTS.. btw they will be in Las Vegas performing in April 🥳🥳
He's actually taking shots at all the haters, but I love the part where he says "it's good that I'm an Idol" which refers to the fact that if he was not in BTS he would be mopping the floors with his competition
THIS IS NOT A DISS TRACK TO ANYONE, HE SAID THAT IF YOU FEEL INSULTED IS YOUR PROBLEM BUT HE DON´T DISS ANYONE AND LESS TO THE MEMBERS OF BTS, they are like brothers to him
Yoongi is a descendant of the famous and important Min clan, who belong to the Joseon dynasty. The Yeoheung Min were rulers in 242 senior positions within the royal court and 4 queens were also in power.
BTS are the biggest ot7 stans there are, and put their group before all else. They all have their own individual musical projects, like mixtapes or singles, but even in these individual projects there are nods to the other members (take note of the fact there are six guys behind Yoongi throughout this video whenever he's in a gang, a representation of his six BTS members. Similar nods are in the other members' solo project videos). In this music video two BTS members also actually cameo as the two who end up in the fight behind him in the very beginning (2:09). But none of them are official soloists - they prefer their individual stuff on the side to be projects with no pressure to share with ARMY^^
At the beginning of the video, he made a pact with a butcher to kill the king, in which the old him. August D (Yoongi) talked about it during the behind the scenes of the MV.
You two on the left really got it right on the money. It’s a song really about Yoongi staying true to himself and not allowing his own success to get in the way of remembering who he really is. In the part where he’s tied up and his flow switches he basically talks about getting everything he ever wanted, and being at the very top but what’s next? He said he just wants to put his feet back on the ground. But I think this is constant battle within himself which is why it kinda depicted that between his tyrant king self and his grounded self. You guys were also right when you said people talked shit about him. The 2 rappers in bts (Suga/AgustD & RM) really got a ton of backlash from their underground hiphop community after joining an agency. They were accused of being sellouts, but really a lot of people were just mad jealous But to answer your question at the end there, yes, actually all BTS members both have solos and make music apart from the group as a whole. It’s not a crazy thing they do to somehow prove themselves apart from bts, it’s just an expression of their individual creativity, which can’t always be expressed within the group. They’ll never break apart to go solo though, they really love and respect each other like brothers and have expressed they want to stay together as a group for a long time. And plus they really don’t need to because they are already successful in their solo work too. But they really release their side music completely for free, with an option to buy it only if you want
Josh is the first person who realized those are bodies in the beginning ! I have seen probably hundreds of reactions to this MV and you are the darn First to realize it ! Even from anime fans who should know it from Japanese historical anime.. You got a new subscriber. Oh my seven gods, I can't wait to see what you say about this ! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I’m really surprised as to how quick you were able to grasp the MV’s concept. All of you were pretty much spot on and I really enjoyed how you explained it!! Keep it up💜 (except the part about him being dissed for BTS’s fame...)
Omg I love how you guys directed the video. Most reactors just sit and watch, go 'omg' from time to time and done. Yeah BTS is known as the true underdog rags to riches tale and Yoongi is very outspoken so he mocks those who looked down on them and their fans before. I'd love to see if you guys will react to their upcoming album/MV this Friday. They always produce their own music but this is the first time they've fully directed every aspect from music video to design and even album packaging.
This is the best reaction from you guys! I really appreciate you guys' attention to detail and your interpretations! Great job, glad I subscribed! BTW Agust D is the goat no cap.😊
There is a crazy amount of hidden meaning and cultural refferences in the lyrics and music video. I strongly recommend you to react to "Daechwita explained by a Korean" by DKDKTV.
"Wait are those bodies?" and that look on Josh's face is exactly how I felt when I first watched this MV. WTF! And Noah's stank face is basically the mood of the whole video LOL
I'm not usually into reaction videos, but I've really been enjoying yours because you guys seem to really enjoy watching things together. You laugh and talk to each other, give your thoughts and you don't look like you've been forced to say nice things 😆 it feels like I'm watching these with you, and I just love seeing you enjoy BTS more and more
The perfect reaction in time to show support to our Min Yoongi who will be sitting out on most promotions for the new BTS album! Str3am Daechwita and D-2 💜
OMG YOU SHOULD REACT TO UGH by BTS THE LYRICS AND THEN THE EXPLANATION BY DKDKTV is soooo good and you will understand every single part of the song and the message it is trying to send to society in general. Also Interlude Shadow by SUGA of BTS . PLEASE IT IS AMAZING
In the video it shows that he has the other members of BTS’ support. As a matter of fact, Jin and JK are in the video. Agust D, aka Suga, aka Min Yoongi is the producer for most of BTS’ music.
I'm impressed with your interpretation! I've seen a lot of people reacting to BTS but you guys really read the lyrics and understanding the message from each songs. Plus the amount of appreciation you guys gave to the music, the beat, the background, the camera works, everything! Amazing, really.
