I love that yall actually got the message just watching it! To add: the eating with the same chopsticks is that he acknowledges he is also apart of the system that he despises and benefits from it now aka "eats" from it instead of how bts was literally from the gutter and now on the top so at the end even in his criticisms of systems he recognizes the fact of his position. He even said the same in Tony Montana when bts weren't even a fraction of how big they are now. He didn't even get the first daesang yet! he said "i want money to chase me but i hope i don't become a monster chasing money."
funny you guys mention he should star in a movie. He actually got a script offer after his Daechwita performance but sadly turned it down. Im sure he'll get offers for this MV as well.
I'm so mad because a WHOLE bunch of movie directors and casters actually went up to Suga trying to get him to act in a drama, but he turned them down 😭 We were THIS close to seeing him act
Haegeum" is a traditional 2 string instrument from Korea. But it also means something like "lift a ban" or" remove prohibition" That's why the lyrics are about freedom vs self indulgence and protest/riot or revolt. To me this is the story i get from the video. This is the king and Agust D from Daechwita reincarnated to the present. The king is again gained power being a high ranking corrupt police officer (as he is leaving the police station the other cops solute him indicating high rank) But at the end Agust D once again out smarted the cop by laying a trap by getting the king's men to turn on him/by replacing them with his own men. It could also be that he was an undercover/rogue cop because he got a lift in a cop car in the end.
Agust D delivering as always and breaking records too. Suga said in a countdown video for the release of this music video that when the music video for AMYGDALA comes out on April 25th that you should watch Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala in one sitting as I think it tells one whole story.
@@m.m.9175 I must still watch the documentary. Probably will do on Sunday. Been hectic for me. Looking forward to watching it. Must get some snacks 1st though. Thanks so much for the explanation. Have an awesome weekend.
i watch so many reactors, there are those that listen to the beat and get hyped up, but there's those who think critically about the message and the scenes, and you are one of those few reactors. so i applaud you for that. i think this is what Suga wants for the listeners, to think and listen to the message he is saying.
This song and the mv had me in a chokehold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get MUCH better (and he was already literally a pro), but the entire cinematography backs it up. The song is a banger, no doubt. Haegeum is a traditional instrument, but it also means release from prohibition. The mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita, he killed the blond Agust D because he was too corrupt with anger and resentment. Agust D couldn't take it anymore. But in Haegeum the Agust D scar ended up as corrupted as the blonde Agust D. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending with the memory of it. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi was finally able to unite with Suga and Agust D. They are no longer apart because he learned to embrace all of his feelings. In this MV, the new Agust D. is a vigilante and violent villain because that's what Agust D is. But instead of just killing the scarred Agust D, who in this narrative, is a corrupt secret agent, (as happened to the blonde Agust D), he ALSO burned the money scar that Agust D had. My interpretation is that this whole mv revolves around FREE SPEECH, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, cheers to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤
There are a lot of scenes here that are parallel to what we've seen in Daechwita. Its like the King and the peasant in that video were reincarnated in the modern times. But you're right, he was trying to liberate himself from his old self.
The video can be taken in so many ways, which is so cool. Reincarnation, killing his own self as a way of progression, or an internal struggle within himself.
“hargeum” is a traditional Korean instrument which he contributed to the beat (100% produced by him alone) but also a song/theme of freedom. The message of this song is freeing yourself from what’s prohibited in freedom of thought. Mafia boss refers capitalistic mob, yes, but also societal pushback.
This music video felt like a movie and I liked how yall understood the messages 😭 I hope y’all get a chance to check out the D-Day album or at least HUH!? (ft Jhope). Agust D on a drill beat sounded too perfect!
i felt this message hard in his Mv, sometimes you hold your own self back. we are indeed slaves to these sorts of things, esp money and social media. freeing yourself from those things makes you feel liberated/free. he spittin fr!
Sorry but can you make your music louder? It will make your subscribers enjoy the music along with your reactions! You guys are always the best reactors! 💜💜💜
SUGA and AGUST D are obviously different personas but in a way similar. Personally, I’ve always looked at AGUST D as MIN YOONGI real self. Like our man as come for our souls with this modern intake of DAECHWITA. A unspoken fact, in my opinion as a Kpop stan for 15 years Ive only known BTS as the artists who are bold enough in talking bout those forbidden truths within and outside of their music. Im sure there other artists before them that attempted to bring light into dark side of the culture to try to break free of the old ways that are outrageously wrong in todays present world while in a new decade. From what I remember the plot shows good vs evil personas of himself (the mad king vs new blood - Old AGUST D vs Present AGUST D) as he continues the inner-battle with greed & temptation. *HAEGEUM means to lift a ban.*
I loved the video. But could you turn up the volume of the music more? I can barely hear properly, and your lines are louder than the sound of the music..
Suga is talented as an actor, imagine if he start training and taking acting school class and start getting into kdrama and movies, scary shit, he could become the next actor superstar lol, but he has turned down a lot of acting roles cause he doesnt like acting.
It’s good that he didn’t go act in movies and series stuff. He needs to have total control of his expression and this is what happens when he does have the reigns. No one else to work with, no need to change his own story, non of that
Woah, you got the essense! Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala (coming in a few days) have mvs that are bound together! So please react to the Amygdala mv too when it comes out!!!
