Ahlus Sunnah Say the Prophet's Parents are In Hell!

The Ahlus Sunnah usually accuse the Shia Muslims of disrespecting their holy personalities yet they have no problem openly declaring the Prophet's parents as kuffar! This is despite the Shia belief of the Prophet's parents being monotheists.

When some one say that person is in hell or in paradise you should bring your proof forward. And only god knows the destination of every one in here after so don't say anything that in the day of judgement would cause your punishment.

The Prophets parents lived before his Prophethood, but were aware of Judaism and Christianity, or just the belief in a single God that was prevalent amount the few of the righteous during the Jahilliyah. Nonetheless, they were pagans. Abu Sufyan repented and fought the Kuffar, more than any Shia ruler has done in this lying sects existence. Where did Shias expand the Dar Al Islam? Never.

The Status of the Prophet's Parents: There are views within both Sunni and Shia traditions that support the idea that his parents were not polytheists and that they were people of pure belief. Sunni Perspective: Some Sunni scholars, including Imam al-Suyuti, argue that the Prophet’s parents will be in Paradise. In his book "Masalik al-Hunafa fi waliday al-Mustafa," he provides various hadiths suggesting that the Prophet’s parents were saved. Shia Perspective: Shia scholars generally hold the view that the Prophet’s parents were monotheists and part of the “People of the Fitrah” (those who followed the pure natural religion). They emphasize that God would not have chosen the final Prophet from an impure lineage. Ayatollah al-Uzma Sayyid Abul Qasim al-Khoei, in his book "Al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Qur'an," asserts that the Prophet’s parents were righteous and pure. Comparison with Abu Sufyan: Abu Sufyan’s late acceptance of Islam and subsequent actions are recognized, but comparing him unfavorably with Shia rulers requires a nuanced historical perspective. Historical Context of Abu Sufyan: Abu Sufyan ibn Harb was a prominent leader of the Quraysh and a staunch opponent of Islam until the conquest of Mecca. While he did eventually convert to Islam, both Sunni and Shia sources provide narratives that suggest his conversion was driven more by pragmatic concerns than genuine faith. Sunni Sources Ibn Kathir’s "Al-Bidaya wa'l-Nihaya" (The Beginning and the End): Ibn Kathir documents that after the conquest of Mecca, Abu Sufyan was one of those who benefited from the Prophet’s policy of amnesty and inclusion. This strategic approach aimed at pacifying former enemies and integrating them into the Muslim community. There are indications that Abu Sufyan’s conversion was motivated by his desire to retain his status and avoid retribution. Shia Sources Al-Ihtijaj by Al-Tabarsi: In "Al-Ihtijaj" (The Protest), a Shia collection of debates and arguments, it is suggested that Abu Sufyan’s conversion was more political than spiritual. The book implies that his acceptance of Islam was a means to secure his family’s position and power in the rapidly changing political landscape. Nahj al-Balagha (The Peak of Eloquence): Although not a direct source on Abu Sufyan, Nahj al-Balagha, a collection of sermons, letters, and sayings attributed to Imam Ali (AS), includes several references to the struggles and hypocrisy faced by the early Muslim community. The context provided by these references can be interpreted as implicit critiques of figures like Abu Sufyan who opposed Islam until its victory was certain. Kitab al-Irshad by Sheikh Mufid: Sheikh Mufid (ra), in his book "Kitab al-Irshad" (The Book of Guidance), provides a historical account that portrays Abu Sufyan as a pragmatic leader who opposed Islam when it threatened his interests and accepted it when he had no other choice. Analysis of Abu Sufyan’s Actions Post-Conversion Battle of Hunayn and Siege of Ta'if: During the Battle of Hunayn, Abu Sufyan’s participation was questioned by some due to his previous actions against the Muslims. While he did fight alongside the Muslims, his motivations were seen as more about securing his and his family’s future within the new power structure. Political Maneuvering: After the death of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Abu Sufyan is noted for his political maneuvering. Historical accounts suggest that he sought to leverage his position, indicating a continued focus on power and influence. Umayyad Dynasty: Abu Sufyan’s legacy is often tied to the establishment of the Umayyad dynasty through his son Muawiya. The early years of Umayyad rule, marked by consolidation of power and political strife, reflect the pragmatic and sometimes ruthless approach initiated by Abu Sufyan. Conclusion The historical evidence from both Sunni and Shia sources raises questions about the sincerity of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb’s conversion to Islam. While his conversion is acknowledged, the motivations behind it appear to be influenced significantly by pragmatic and political considerations rather than genuine belief. This nuanced understanding allows for a more comprehensive view of Abu Sufyan’s role and legacy in early Islamic history. Shia Rulers and Expansion of Islam: Shia rulers have historically played significant roles in the expansion and defense of Islam. The Fatimid Caliphate (909-1171) is a prime example. The Fatimids, who were Ismaili Shia, ruled over a vast empire including North Africa, Egypt, and parts of the Levant, and they significantly contributed to the cultural and intellectual development of the Islamic world. Contribution of Shia Islam to Dar Al Islam: The claim that Shia Islam has not expanded Dar Al Islam is incorrect and ignores historical contributions by Shia dynasties and rulers. The Fatimid Caliphate: The Fatimid Caliphate established Cairo as a major center of Islamic learning and culture. Al-Azhar University, one of the oldest universities in the world, was founded by the Fatimids and remains a leading institution for Islamic learning. The Safavid Empire: The Safavid Empire (1501-1736) established Twelver Shia Islam as the state religion of Iran and made significant contributions to the spread and consolidation of Shia beliefs. Under the Safavids, Iran became a bastion of Shia Islam, which remains so to this day. Role of Shia Scholars and Leaders: Shia scholars and leaders have made enduring contributions to Islamic thought, jurisprudence, and culture. Intellectual Contributions: Scholars like Al-Sayyid al-Murtada, Al-Sheikh Al-Mufid, and Allama Al-Hilli have made substantial contributions to Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and philosophy. Defense and Expansion: Figures like Imam Ali (AS) played crucial roles in the early defense and consolidation of the Muslim community. Despite political marginalization, Shia leaders have continued to defend and promote Islamic teachings. Conclusion: The argument that Shia Islam has not contributed to the expansion or defense of Islam is historically inaccurate. Both Sunni and Shia sources recognize the important roles played by Shia leaders, scholars, and dynasties in the broader Islamic civilization. By understanding these historical contexts and contributions, one can see the significant and enduring impact of Shia Islam within the global Muslim community.
