Ahoy There | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth | Pt.27 

The weather changing out on the seas is basically to hide the pop up of the opposite continent. Since the in-game distance is only around 10km across, you'd be able to see Junon from Costa del Sol which would ruin the illusion of it being a vast ocean, so they unload the continent and use the weather changing to hide it loading back in and Costa disappearing behind you.

I've mentioned it before in another comment, but I really do recommend using target lock when fighting. It makes it way easier to hit specific enemy parts. Also, it makes it a lot easier to focus down specific enemies in a group, even while switching between different party members. This way you can lower the number of simultaneous enemies that you have to fight, much more efficiently (So you don't spread out the damage too much, and end up having the full number of enemies doing damage for almost the entire fight). Furthermore you won't have to use as much brain power on controlling the camera, making it easer to see and block incoming attacks :) Anyway, excited for you to progress the main story!

Magnify weakens your spell, if you don't need it (against 1 enemy), you can toggle it off, L1, to get 100% damage.

I love the chocoba Races in the gold saucer you are really amazing on these races! It’s reminds of Mario Kart back at the day! I remember me and my siblings were very competitive to the max. Good times

You would have spared yourself a ton of headache in the arena fight against the giga worm and aggrevikon by using stop on the gigaworm and focusing on on taking him out first. Sometimes status effects are lifesavers (No pun intended) for you. And I know the white terror is susceptible to status effects to. I think sleep and stop. :)

Watching you do the frog fights at Gold Saucer made me think of the old Battletoads games I played as a kid!

Besides the obvious long-range attacks of Barret, Aerith and Yuffie, you can fight aerial enemies with Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie close up in the air. With Cloud, you could either use Firebolt, Triple Slash or dodge and hold square to unleash an attack draws Cloud to the aerial enemies. With Yuffie, throw your weapon at the aerial enemy and retrieve it again by pressing the triangle button. With Tifa, use Reverse Gale or her attack synergy skills, in which one of your team mates will boost her up into the air.

Another great video Maggie, especially all the randomness with the side stuff and the reactions to everything that’s happening....especially during the Chokobo races😂. “Yeah, try passing me now” and “Yeah, enjoy that bubble” had me in stitches, especially the way it came out when you said them😂.... “Get wrecked” is another favourite of mine too as well😂. A long video I managed to get through, but then again that’s my fault for not breaking them up in a couple of days like I usually do, but I very much enjoyed it though all the same. Here is a trick for 3d brawler that will save you much rage. Pause the game as the opponent is about to punch. look at their position and memorize what attack it is and what the formation looks like. And once you get it down using that method it becomes easier. i would not have been able to do brawlers without that trick.

You got rid of the SKEE SKEEE and kept Queeen Bee??? Oh lord this is gonna be rough haha. Next time read the abilities on the cards. Queeen Bee has none and is only good in starter decks.

3:55:40 damn no love for Aerith AT ALL the last few episodes, even on her side quest. If you knew that she could use radiant ward or Arcane ward for double magic and DPS you would have a fun time, rather than just doing soul drain. Luckily we will have forced party formations soon enough.

I strongly disagree. I think 3D Brawler is one of the best mini games in Rebirth. Just don't expect to beat it your first try. Gotta learn the tells and combos.

I did struggle with the dogs at the arena as well! As a tip for equipping materias faster and swapping between your characters, use the touch pad! it's going to be a world of difference! Also use triangle to swap instead of going into the materias form the menu :D ALSO when you use MAGNIFY, the magic is not as strong when you use Magnify on a single enemy, so use L1 to disable magnify so it hits full force!

A good tip to cheese 3D brawler is to pause right as their animation starts and dodge after you can determine which way to go. Makes the fights much easier.

Keep your ff7 journey unique. Crisis core would ruin it so play it after the 3rd remake

Don't expect to complete the Johnny 88/88 side quest in your first playthrough (or ever) it requires some NG+ stuffs. Including some pretty BS hard stuffs.

Yeah, honestly the resolution to the Kyrie subplot continues to feel off to me. What they were going for wasn't bad - the idea that Kyrie makes mistakes but wants to be free to make those mistakes without the burden of an overbearing maternal figure that pushes expectations onto her that she doesn't actually want, something that Yuffie is able to relate to and bond with her over. That scene between Kyrie and her grandma at the end is quite nice on its own, out of context, presenting Kyrie's problem as being her acting out as an escape from having her future dictated to her. The problem is that's not the problem with Kyrie that we've been dealing with in _every other scene._ The problem is she's a deceitful, selfish and lazy fraud who constantly doesn't think things through, pawns work off on Cloud and is so consistently rude throughout all of it without the slightest word of apology or lesson in humility, no matter how in over her head she is. Mireille showing up and calling her out on some of that wasn't "nitpicking her technique", it was setting her straight in the face of life-threatening stupidity. It's a little annoying that they tried just a little too hard to have it both ways there.

This kind of a bitter sweet moment as last time she does side mission/mini games before the end. We in the endgame now folks.

The thing about the Trouble in Paradise quest is that you get those monster parts pretty early on when you first complete those 2 Classified Intel bosses. Chadley will actually say something like “That’s a rare monster part, you might want to hold on to that.” But you also use those parts to transmute unique accessories, which is what you did way back when.

I couldn't master blocking here or FF16 :D I feel you! Also Cid and Vincent are the smartest ones just sitting back while you fight giant ogres :D

You should switch up your equipment to get immunity to your enemy status ailments ie toad / petrify. Safety bit will save you alot of frustration. In addition you should have your 2 strongest party members in each group with revive. These 2 things would have made your fights way easier, as you constantly had ko'd party members and never revived them

you will need to sail around the ocean and collect the pirate jetsam. you need it to craft the end game accessories.

The worms swallowing has some CRAZY hitboxes. It gets pretty frustrating, especially in harder challenges.

My go-to when I get destroyed by two enemies at the same time (Like I most definitely did by the two Test 0's) is to check if I can use 'Sleep' on one of them :D It makes it a lot easier. Extremely well done just brute forcing it without it though \^.^/ I definitely cleared all the map fog in the meridian ocean :'D Not worth it, but I would do it again haha ^^

Hello Maggie, don't forget outside battles, Curaga is the third magic spell, in a battle REGEN appears, what I often notice if I may, is you think Curaga is the third healing spell IN BATTLE and you end up using REGEN instead, it's like a reflex you get and you don't take the time to read what you're doing I DO IT TOO, don't get me wrong REGEN is pretty good when the odds present themselves, but when you want the massive cure, CURAGA is the FOURTH HEALING spell IN BATTLE but the THIRD ONE outside battle, I am glad you put the sidequests on youtube, I really love them and you ARE A REAL FAN..take care Maggie

The reason why Kyrie’s quest didn’t tell you where to go is because their locations aren’t revealed until you unlock them by collecting other world intel. I do think the game should’ve checked if you already beat them though. Doesn’t make sense to keep them hidden.

Great job on the Proof of Life challenge in the dustbowl! It’s tricky but you nailed it in just a few tries. I used Cloud with elemental Materia linked with fire on his weapon to do constant fire damage and then used Sleep to keep the other enemy out of the fight.

Once upon a time I used to like horror movies too, but then it just seemed like every horror movie I watched was about gore and torture, and I've not wanted to watch horror movies since. I like thrillers, and I like dark themes, like with Alfred Hitchcock movies or the original Jurassic Park and Alien, but as soon as a movie starts to focus on graphically hurting people, I'm just out. But like, the first Phantasmagoria game I loved back like 25 years ago. lol

The Dogs are an Leftover in the 1.0 Japan Version as far as i know. If you go down that Well and get into an Random Encounter there is a Chance they show up. But its not supposed to happen. Thats why they talk and why they dont attack for a while (in OG they dont fight back until you attack as far as i know). Its a nice Easteregg. Hope i did not forget something about it. Did not know until few Weeks back either.

Honestly Maggie, I feel the same with those workouts with Jules. I work out too everyday and I’d prefer those than the finger button workouts 😂 just can’t get used to it

I stuggle with many of the mini games. I still have a few . I finally beat the one with Jules today. Focus on Tifa and depending on what is your dominant hand the one we write with. If the buttons start right and the players right handed it’s easier or if the buttons start left left handed player will do better that way. To get the buttons to start the direction the players want just retry. I hope this can help other players who has not beat Jules yet in his mini game.
