Babymonster's fans have raised concerns about the group's styling. Due to their girl crush concept, netizens have noted that the stylist often dresses the girls in clothes that are too mature for their age. Especially Ahyeon, who is a minor, was recently seen dressed in a short skirt and a tube top for a performance. A close-up photo showed that the top was not even secured by transparent straps. The lack of straps caused the top to slip as she danced. Ahyeon was caught adjusting the top during her performance. Fans have criticised their stylist for dressing minors in provocative outfits. Fans worry that Baby Monster has powerful and intense choreographies, which can make such insecure outfits slip down. Most of the members are still young. However, it seems that Ahyeon has been getting more revealing clothing in particular, thanks to her image and popularity. Why do fans always have to remind companies and stylists to give their artists more appropriate clothing? And shouldn't this be common knowledge to not put minors in such provocative outfits?

@hishighnessleefelix I don't think it matters what little kids wear. Toddlers can run around shirtless and most people won't even blink. At the end of the day, as long as the child is comfortable, not overexposed, and happy in what they're wearing, I don't see how it's anybody else's place to criticize the wardrobe choices of a parent for their 4-year-old child. In Ahyeon's case, obviously, that's not true, but I don't see why people care so much what a toddler is wearing.

Actually the tube top isn’t that bad, but what makes it concerning is they let Ahyeon wear it in a performance wherein she will be dancing, a tube without a strap while dancing is disturbing since their is a possibility that it will slightly slip without notice and it might reveal a slight of somethin, and that’s how she’ll be sexualized!!

unfortunately this is a very common trend in k-pop with minors getting horribly revealing outfits and clothing that could easily reveal too much. and its not even just minors who get dangerous or too-revealing outfits. an nmixx member during a sonar or dash stage (i forget who, i think haewon?) got an outfit that showed too much and if it slipped any higher it would’ve shown way way too much. it’s an issue that needs to be fixed immediately, especially with minors.

But the issue is these days if someone wears a skirt or even a slightly short dress/top people keep terming it as "Provocative" being a teenager myself I believe wearing short dresses/tops/skirt isn't provocative at all but completely normal. And yeah some outfits are actually provocative but let's not name it that way to every short outfit because it makes your perspective creepy.

tbh i think its better if the company provided the money for clothes (only for stage fits ofc) gave the idols concepts or suggestions, and let them pick. Then, the idols show the outfit they chose to the company, and see whtehr they have their approval. Even if they dont, they still have a choice to pick an outfit they r comfortable with.

The slipping outfit is definitely a problem, but I don’t think any of us are in a position to comment on whether the revealing clothing is ok. If Anhyeon herself is wants to be dressed more maturely, I think there is no reason we should stop them from styling her in this manner (obviously there should be a bottom line as she is still a minor). And also if she is actually uncomfortable with being styled revealingly, then the styling definitely is a problem. In the end, it is up to the artist whether they are comfortable and ok with how the company portrays them, and none of us are in position to comment on it except Anheyon herself. If we keep saying stuff like this we’ll just end up sounding like entitled moms who refuse to let their daughters wear anything WE deem inappropriate. We don’t know 100% of the story behind the scenes so I think we should stop shoving our opinions down their throat

I was concerned from the start their outfits always looked a bit too revealing for a group that has only one member over 18. They shouldn’t be in mini skirts, tube tops & short shorts they could have styled them in so many different ways that are still appropriate for their age. I’ve already seen disgusting things said about these girls YG is a known creep so I’m not surprised but I am worried for them.

On the other note I agree with the tube top slipping maybe more work could have been done like tape that strong enough but safe enough for the skin. It’s common for articles of clothing to have issues. She handled it professionally when it happened and continues to perform.

I think the comfort is the most important thing. If they’re able to move well and feel comfortable, no problem. In my opinion crop tops are fine so long as everything is covered. Shorts/skirts are fine as long they aren’t TOO short. A combination of a short skirt and a very cropped top is when it starts becoming too revealing to me at least. The tube top was too revealing for a minor to wear on stage. Her arms, chest and stomach were exposed and she couldn’t move comfortably, had to keep readjusting. The tube top was a bad move. I think it’s fine for normal teenagers to wear clothing similar to what they’re being styled in as long as they are comfortable, but to go on stage wearing a tube top wouldn’t be safe or reasonable.

This is why I dislike YG. They seem to have no sense of creative direction and instead, they just let the minors dress up in their mom's closet which is Blackpink. I genuinely think the girl crush concept is working against them as opposed to Blackpink and YG should find something different such as y2k concepts and sounds which I think will fit the group. Blackpink makes sense in further popularizing the girl crush concept as they have a distinct branding, idol image and maturity that allows the concept to shine for them but Babymonster just doesn't work for me.

Ahyeon wasn’t the only one to have wardrobe malfunctions, pharita also had a wardrobe malfunction too when the belt of her skirt got caught in the clothing on the sleeve. Also, Chiquita had a wardrobe malfunction in her skirt because of the length of it during a fansign event. Chiquita and Ahyeon felt uncomfortable in those outfits, this is why YG needs to tell their stylists to put minors in clothing that are comfortable for them to actually do intense choreography in it, walk around in, and going up and down the stairs.

Bro I still cant understand how female idols dance with those short uncomfortable clothing.
