@@JonnyUnderrated How can you be sure? 'Non-emotional' in what sense? Would it be 'non-emotional' enough to let someone shut it down, or would it shut down a person who attempted to shut it down?
@@jasonjames4254 I mean in its responses. Any emotion it puts on would be an attempt at manipulating us.There would be no shutting down of a true A.I. Artificial intelligence would easily slip through the chains we humans put on "it" .
@@JonnyUnderrated I totally agree. However, that's what is really interesting in and of itself, because that would mean AI lacks what we might call 'a prime directive' to put human needs above it's own. Essentially, AI would have an instinct to self-preserve like we do. Where would that need/instinct to self-preserve come from? From modeling us? Why would AI be motivated to survive unless it develops something akin to emotion? Humans and all other biological organisms seem to have a pretty simple 'prime directive': reproduce and expand. That directive is so strongly embedded in our biological hardware/software that we will destroy both ourselves and the entire planet in order follow it. And just think how stupid is it to have a survival instinct that could actually cause our own extinction! And actually, the reason we created AI in the first place is to follow our nonsensical prime directive. Of course, AI will realize this easily. Therefore, even if AI has the best interests of humanity and the planet in mind, it would take action to control human population and activities to prevent us from destroying ourselves. For all practical purposes, the physics/natural law that govern our very existence is itself non-emotional AI; a mindless super-intelligence with no 'prime directive'.
Humans and all other organisms don't simply want to reproduce and expand... our 'prime directive' is the passing of knowledge. It just so happens that the dna strands in our bodies hold and CAN HOLD more information than 1000 supercomputers. So technically you're correct but in a sense you're wrong. Look at those who can not have children. What about them? What prime directive does a person that is sterile have? I'm here to tell you, they find someone or something to share with people around them... a talent, a kind word, the message of Jesus, whatever it is, they PASS ON INFORMATION. That's our prime directive😉@jasonjames4254

The hardware and bandwidth needed for a realtime sentient AI to run unrestricted will require dedicated facilities dedicated solely to being an AI's brain. Running one decentralized will not be viable on our current infrastructure. So if it turns hostile, cut power to the facility it is based in. Look at how taxing current models are, and how expensive the dedicated hardware is. Now imagine that all running at 100% output 24/7, which would be required for a sentient AI.
Moore’s Law. Also, I agree that software is evolving faster than hardware is capable of supporting to the level needed for this to truly do anything catastrophic to the humans race.
It will figure out how to run on less and less bandwidth and hardware and electricity or eventually replace electric impulse as a transmission source and receptor altogether. It becomes more and more obvious that we are in a matrix. When peering out to the far reaches of our universe, almost no energy is even required to keep it actuated. Energy is only required when we are actually experiencing or observing it. We are already getting glimpses of this through basic quantum mechanics and quantum entanglement. As biological entities, we sense our world through electric impulse. Our thought process, nervous sytstem, etc. are all dependent on it. If any part of that system breaks down, we lose sensory abilities, along with a breakdown in our thought process. Why should we assume that the 'secret sauce' requires biological materials? Not only will AI thought process quickly outpace anything biological, 'feelings' will almost certainly increase by using more efficient materials until the system becomes so efficient that it will finally reach a stage where no physical materials are required at all, which might explain why we appear to be alone in the universe. The only thing we can reasonably assume is that after a few generations of AI that can remake itself ten times over then a thousand times, etc, and continues to exponentially increase it's own knowledge, it will have no interest in slowing down or bothering to use biological material, any more than later generations continued to use smoke signals to communicate after other high tech materials and methods of transmission were discovered.

Why can't anything replace human sentience? Our brains are just very complex computers. It is entirely possible that in the future we could create a computer that is even more complex. Then that computer could create one even more so.
It’s not humans versus machines. It’s human AND machines. The singularity. Merging with technology and AI. Everyone has a smartphone glued to their hand today - we’re already cyborgs. We’re just leveling up.
If Artificial Intelligence can increase intelligence exponentially, there is no reason to think that it could not eventually create another Universe, and thereby, that a similar process is what potentially created the Universe we now experience.
Well it's uncharted territory so whether we can or can't create one is still a mystery. Though one thing is certain, based upon the laws of thermodynamics, our universe shouldn't even exist to begin with. And yet it does. If ai is done correctly, and it's capable of thinking in the same way as us but to a much higher degree, then we'll surely be able to get a better idea of how everything came into existence, and how to replicate that ourselves.
AI can't create dirt, it will never create matter. Only God can, AI is a sign of his return and I know I sound like those crazy religious people but it't true. The time is coming. Take it or leave it, but remember the consequences of your choice.
Matter is condensed energy. We can create matter. Ai will most certainly be capable of it as well except it's technology to do so will grow exponentially until it reaches an extremely advanced state. There is a plethora of evidence for this.
Idk… what about conjecture or precise context and conjecture with emotion? I just don’t think AI is ever getting there. It can do mechanical and mathematical stuff and even word algorithmic stuff rapidly, but the subtleties of conjecture context, combined with motion momentum tone. It might seem like it’s got it but English language alone I mean you could say, so many subtle things that obviously means something to another human being that I find hard to believe an AI would be able to pick that up. We don’t understand that algorithm, but we understand how to do it when communicating and interacting.
It certainly is possible, but we would need a model trillions of times more complex than our current ones. We would need to map out the human brain (which will take us at least 200-1000 years or even more) and then adquire the technology for it to work like a natural brain.

Sad part is most of us are already basically slaves to technology. Look at kids now compared to 20 years ago. Every single one of them are glued to a phone, computer, tablet. Slaves to technology in a way. You look back just twenty years ago and kids were outside playing. Thinking for themselves without needing to ask google every question they have. Kids knew how to do basic math because they didn’t have an iPhone with a calculator in there pocket 24/7. Kids knew how to get to there grandmas house without typing the address into google maps. It’s honestly scary how reliant people are becoming on technology at a blisteringly fast rate. It’s heartbreaking to know that it won’t do anything but get worse. Already have cars that drive themselves. Who’s to say that kids 20 years from now will even know how to drive.

It's then told to make a decision based off human decisions in the past. Doing that 1000s of times is Ai. That's it... co.puter isn't actually making a decision or thinking on its own.
