@@carlblix7794 I'm basing my theory on a more demonstrable example. Most people don't realize just how poorly our brains "describe" reality based on sensory input. There is a real-world test you can perform on RU-vid. The video asks you to focus on a dot in the middle of the screen while it sequences through various celebrity faces. The longer you let the video play, the more distorted the faces become. The reason for this distortion is because your brain disregards what it deems unimportant details. Since you are focusing on the dot, the brain keeps an accurate image of it despite the image changing. But the surrounding facial features are outside of your line of focus, so the brain *_guesses_* at what those details probably look like. It's first guess is somewhat distorted, then the next time that image appears, it attempts to "guess" based on what the last guess looked like, so the image becomes more and more distorted. Dreams are just artifacts of our brains processing information while we sleep, so ALL DETAILS are unimportant; this is why if you could playback your dreams while you are awake, they would probably look like this video -- all of the imagery in your dream is your brain just "guessing" at what the image looks like, and since it's not important that the details be accurate, it wouldn't bother with getting them accurate.
That's because, although not 100% the same, these AIs use a model inspired by the brain, so things tens to look like dreams where the brain is kind of on "resource saving mode". If you pay attention to the face of someone in a dream, it morphs like this.
