I believe you would be able to create for example 16 seconds timeline video explaining what character you want, camera movement and explain as detailed as possible second by second what scene you want to be created and camera movement you want to happen (Move camera around object between 10th and 14th second and then focus in 14th to 16th second, for example). Then you will be able to use AI for full animated video creation :)

Worst case scenario question for you: assuming AI "fixes" all of these inconsistencies that you're pointing out. What careers can we shift our skillsets towards? I don't feel there are many things that share similar workflows... I'm so worried I'm just going to be replaced by higher ups who do NOT care about these inconsistencies. I also train people, similarly to how you do with Animators Journey. I'm always so scared of helping people enter this industry at this time.

Or shorter term like for some time the best players post chess AI were not the AIs but centaurs of humans + AIs, we might just have a human fix what we can't quite have the AI do yet. At least for images fixing an AI image takes way less work and skill then starting from nothing. Even though image generators can't do a lot of stuff well humans can already correct the output to fix most of the flaws as long as they have some experience in the area.

Why don’t they use AI for boring stupid shit that nobody wants to do? Like doing groceries, accounting work, cleaning the house, doing laundry, so we have more time for fun things like being creative, making music and art? I don't think the problem is for the professionnals, yet, the problem is the public which has no clue how much work those kind of shots can be. You can work for months on a single project, share it on twitter etc and yet, any random writting 2 words would have more reach because he can do 10 of those things per hour which is favorable for algorithms. And since public doesn't care about the work input, it creates a very touch gap to beat :/ The new social media artists are pretty much going to be words spammers and they might get filthy rich from it ahah As for the animators in the industry, we will be safe for a while, untill you can add details in the prompt as you go or, even worse, when we'll have addons for Maya, blender etc and you'll be able to generate an animation or poses with single promps, in the future i'm pretty sure animators are going to because keyframe cleaners ahah It goes the same for character artists etc, ofc, might even be worse for them, what a sad time to be an artist in

I think you're correct in saying it has a place for individuals projects, like RU-vid, I've already noticed on at least one channel, TheWhyFiles, the use of motion AI. I think, over all, based on what you have to say this is more likely to be used for conceptualizing projects, even then it could be used as a tool to indicate the direction concept artists should go, but I don't see it being anything more than just another tool to assist the artists. Maybe at first studio heads will over estimate its abilities and there will be a bit of a shake up in the industry, but after the numerous flops that'll come out of it they'll realize they still need the artists

I doubt this will ever get use unless they somehow manage to make the systems understand you like you understand other humans. These systems only understand basic data input and summarizing complex ideas into text is practically impossible. Even if you could tell the system your idea, I doubt it would be able to comprehend it in its entirety because human speech is not just words but emotions and physical gesticulations. For AI to be able to achieve the understanding of this, you would need so much power to keep the data center running that it's almost impossible unless every data center would have their own dedicated nuclear plant. I doubt it will ever be possible for this so-called 'AI' to achieve the abilities of fine tuning things like humans are able to do on the move. It will be able to process tremendous amount of data that humans never will be able, but I seriously doubt it will ever be able to create something that isn't a rearranged piece of art that was previously created by humans.

@@gherat idk about total AI not in terms of ability, but acceptance/popularity because pop culture is surrounded around directors and actors (celebrities). For actors, they could use likeness or have made up actors. I think celebrity culture and just "humanness" which matters to so many people, especially those that dont follow AI, is being disregarded. Maybe not to the people watching these types of videos. Until AI get true agency, humans will remain in the loop of creativity and even then people will want to watch stuff that has human input. These tools will supercharge artists creativity not replace it and allow them to do more and eventually create entire movies by themselves. I'm already experimenting creating little shorts whereas previously creating just a single shot would be very time consuming. To get any precision out of these tools still requires a fair bit of effort even for still illustrations especially if your working to a clients brief. I still use a all my old school digital techniques but combine them with AI generation when I can to speed things up. Some things it does well and some things it doesn't but if there is a tool out there to speed up a work flow then i'm going to be using it.

I think instead of prompts and brute force it will be you just fixing stuff by hand. Unless you lack the skills to fix something often the best way to fix an AI image is to just open it in another app and just draw over it. Only when I am unable to correct an error do I then go back to trying to get the AI to fix it instead. If the AI already did something badly it likely means it will be a struggle to get it to fix it properly. Now how do you fix an video, as unlike a picture you can't just edit the pixels. I imagine that people with maximum AI skills and minimal to zero animation skills (as we currently understand them ie implementation of the 12 principles, modelling, rigging etc) will be able to offer cheaper products with much quicker production times to clients seeking animation. And it will be hard to distinguish the difference in quality of human made vs AI made.

From my experience selling indie mocap, 100s of convo's with indie creators, smaller teams or a solo artist (with or without any experience) uses Mid Journey for concept art and proofs of concept all to pitch potential investors for something that mirror a true production. It is incredible because someone can come up with just an idea and at least try to translate that to something more. The camera control part is so important though. Only Runway ML even really has a UI interface which tells me just how far the main players (Pika, OpenAI, Mid Journey) are from what they think are more commercially viable products. The 3D model, texture, perhaps even animation generation that can exist within a 3D tool where you have some controls (assembling like a kit) seems much more closer than the generative video in entertainment / quality-production. B-roll, product, and design those seem to work fine minus bigger companies concern with rights and licensing.

At 7:25 continuety in character designs between different shots? The robot changes. At one point he has a sort of backpack and in the next shot he doesn't. I wouldn't call that impressive. Like you said the training data is 100% stolen and in my personal opinion this AI bullshit should not even exist... it ONLY exists for people with no artistic skill to fuck over artists.
