I wondered if Erin had actually said this to Mikasa, would the outcome have been different? Ai Higuchi may not be a household name but her performance made it so emotional. This version is the upper cut while The First Take Version was the knockout punch. One of my personal favorites from the anime.

This song will make me cry for a long time. AOT is a masterpiece whatever other people may say it has flaws yes but the world building and the storytelling is up there.

I subscribe the the theory that Akuma no Ko is actually Mikasa talking to Eren and Under the Tree is Eren to Mikasa. Listen to those songs again but with that POV. It's actually insane. Especially Akuma no Ko. Not this video but the official full song music video. It's all imagery of Eren and mostly Eren from behind. It's Mikasa watching Eren and this is her song towards Eren that she with love him no matter what and that she is always the one chasing him. Give it a try and switch the POV. It will raddle your mind.
