Agree. Semantic scholar appears to be giving some better search output that Google Scholar.

It is my understanding that Sematic Scholar only subscribes to Open Access journals. How are predatory journals then filtered? I am not confident they are....

Good question. I haven't seen any predatory journals in my searches, but I also haven't gone looking for them so they could well be there. What has your experience been?

@@DrLyndonWalker I have not investigated this, but I do think the question of the inclusion of predatory journals within AI platforms is valid. I asked this question in an Elicit webinar and was ignored (maybe purposefully or not). If this is the case, I can see predatory journal publications exploding knowing they would be cited within AI searches. I am not claiming to be an expert by any means, but have read up a bit on predatory publishing and it is on the rise.

It's a very important question. Predatory journals are a big problem and anything that pushes access to them and encourages them to be cited more over real sources is very problematic.
