This is the 5th Session of my 5G webinar series with Karim Rabie (ICT Cheif Architect).
In this session, we cover some of the use-cases for AI/ML when deploying 5G NSA, and SA. along with Orchestration and Automation of Network Slicing.

Hi Team, Very good session, although its a 2 year old now but still its a good knowledge one. @mohamed Is is possible for your to share the slide pack. Also, could you guys upload the latest use cases according to the market for AI/ ML in Network Slicing 2023.

We need to understand that ML models learn from the input data, and it is not a magic box that it will spit out the best policy to steer network traffic initially. But of course, if we provide enough KPI/data to the model, it will learn exponentially and perhaps, at some point, the fault prediction/traffic detection would become reliable enough to meet the SLA with a minimum of network management and orchestration overhead.

Hello, I’m not that familiar with Segment Routing, so maybe my question is irrelevant, but is there any possibility to add some SDN controller for transport network to have better overview of overall network? And which kind of SDN controller it would be (is it ONOS, which is frequently connected with mobile operators)? Is it also possible to apply ML on routers with segment routing and how? Btw. Thank you, a lot, for yours videos. It’s not that common to see somebody talking about transport network in case of 5G network slicing. I would be grateful, if you cover this topic even more in your next videos.

Hi Aneta, Yes you can add controllers such as ODL to provision paths through Transport based on applications requirements as example. There are also other vendors controllers, and PCE (Path Compution Engine) that can benefit from the flexibility and SDN/Programmability enabled by segment routing.
