This is insane! I was playing with it to create music that was similar to In Flames and Rise to Fall - making sure to use 3rds in the harmonies in left/right speakers and it was dead on!
As a musician who really dislikes relying on other musicians to finish their parts of a song… i really embrace this, and I think it would even make me a better vocalist being able to have AI suggest ways to sing, and provide all the drumming so i can focus on my own guitar playing
I always thought V2 was fine until 3 came along. I've used Suno instrumentals for video backgrounds (stock music definitely on its last legs) and everything from death metal to zydeco to acapella 50's barbershop. Amazing.
Even if AI makes awesome music, real people can still make music , and they can even preform AI generated songs live and if it sounds like something they like or its something that inspires them then i think that's pretty cool, could be an amazing tool for a Human to utilize and incorporate into what they love doing and maintain the life of art and i don't think we have to be worried about being replaced by something that does what YOU Specifically do like , the day AI on its own volition clones your voice and writes you a song in your writing style and its convincing to you then we might start being legitimately worried , now automation is real and actually very rapidly progressing. That doesn't mean that the systems that are being automated, don't still use some human input. atm
I know how you feel, I just write for fun and record for fun, no one listens to my music as I'm not in bands anymore... but its scary that something I took years to do, can be done by ANYONE. I'm glad I don't make my living out of this, I feel sad rather than defeated, years of trying to bea successfull musician and songwriter did that years ago for me!.
A musical version of incest. People will start making these songs, then the AI will sample them to make more, and then they will slowly converge into one big punk rock mush of noise
Yeah I’m guessing things will go through a phase of “good clone music”. Hopefully out the other end of it we just keep seeing better and better music overall, very hard to say how it’ll all pan out
I tried to throw it a curve-ball by trying to get it to write a beat down song and easy-core song lol. Didnt recognize either.. but maybe they aren't official genre terms idk. What it can do is scary though, very human like in a lot of ways.
Tried some more complicated prompts like low tempo, extreme vocals, instrumental and it just basicaly generated something that resembled the general genre I wrote. Believe this could be an interesting tool (imagine specifying chords or a feature in daw that will generate a filler for certain part, or help you link 2 parts together), but we are not there yet.
It's intended purpose is to replace musicians. It has no, nor will it ever, have any practical application for musicians. It will not be your drummer, keyboardist, bassist, or guitarist, it will only be your complete replacement.
I'm having the same reaction from when I found out the announcers from The Finals were all AI. "Damn thats really cool! ...but also kinda... fucked." Crazy, def gonna have to have a play with it.
I just want to hear the state of AI black metal. I have a feeling it will be awful, because it will be trained on black metal hahahaha, but I'm still worried...
all metalcore bands of the past 5ish bands have been pretty djent influenced and who knows what kind of music this thing is trained it, could be a lot of newer metalcore fir the metalcore stuff
Nobody mentions when u sign up to use an A.I music creation app - you dont own the song or songs the app creates.. you have to sign an agreement that the A.I app owns the rights to the song.. so no one is using the app to write A SONG.. youre using the app to have the app write FOR YOU

if you write good lyrics and use Suno right you can make some banger hits that sound amazing!! ive got a few i'm working on re-recording, some 80s hair metal songs and something that sounds a little more like jazzy horror. the Music aspect of V3 some of the stuff ive made you can't tell the instruments are AI and theyre mixed so well. vocals are really the only thing hit or miss.
Yeah its crazy to see the evolution of it all. From crummy midi AI packs to bad instruments to now good instruments and decent vocals... no doubt in a few years the full blown songs will be indistinguishable
not what I want from AI. I'm looking for products that can jam, fill in a missing musician's part rather than write the song. I'm not seeing much out there that can do this.
Yeah it would be great to have something to generate vocal ideas ontop of jam tracks that we make. I think that kind of thing will come with time, jam mates kind of thing
I have been saying for years that AI is something that is being developed without the consent of the masses. If you think this is depressing, give it another 10 years when it makes hundreds of career paths obsolete. The economic toll will be real. Tv producers will just use this type of tool for generic incidental music etc. A income stream for musicians is gone
There isn't too much music, there are like billions of songs already and nobody can hear it all. Music as is isn't really something you make money with. Ai can't perform live.
This shit actually sucks. And it's no different to the commercial music we already have in radios all day long. If you'll ask it to write a song in Chuck Schuldiner style it will actually self destruct itself or make a very bad imitation. Sadly common people don't realize that and will even pay for this shit which also sucks in mix and master
