Wow, atleast someone is talking along these lines. It is most important discussion that should be happening. J. Krishnamurti said the same thing. He said in psychological world there is no time, which means All time is contained in now. He said if the Truth - Consciousness (Satyuga) have to happen, it will happen now or it will never, because past and future stems from now. So, Life is just "long now". We just have illusion of past and future, but it is always now (It is now or never). Hence the eternal dictum " Be still and know"

As a Westrrner who practices kriya yoga and used to be a big fan of Wilber (used to be!) I look forward to your book on him!

Western domination is through English language, internet, Facebook, emails and now AI. it is sure to impose their culture, way of life, totally materiastic approach to life etc... As LSD, could not replace, the actual experience/s attained with meditative Samadhi, so in the same way AI-generated Bliss high would not be able to do the same. LSD gave similar experiences to the attainment of Samadhi, but after those mind-altering trips, a person never attained a wisdom consciousness as it happens with meditative Samadhi. And that is the basic difference, so we can say AI can never be a threat to the actual attainment of Self-realisation. A greater threat comes when Humans become Asuric in their nature and similarly, AI will become a threat if and when AI begins, to behave like a Hostile Anti Divine being. What Rajivji is doing, is Battling against the degenerative forces in the physical plane, but the same is being done by a self-realized yogi in the unseen - invisible realms, this is what Sri Aurobindo and The mother have been involved in all through their life. AI is the beginning and start of the new Deva Asur Samgram.

All culture based nations across the world must maintain their independence and self-rule by building native independent self-sufficient foundations for all kinds of technologies in every field.

AI cannot be stopped and should not be. It's long and old journey to automation. It could be very useful to society but can also play a destructive role like a knife, useful as well as destructive. Wise people like in above discussions can play important role to mould AI on positive path.

I am shocked and concerned about how AI is going to control individuals. We are unconsciously getting sucked into this AI network. We even go to the extent of appreciating the seamless flow of our own personal information to various platforms though at times we are surprised how somebody got hold of our own information. We need to be careful and see how our behaviour is not controlled by someone else.

I am not sure what the kind fella rejecting technology is meditating on but imho observances he seems to be missing the bigger picture entirely... look at the brighter side which, in this case, is a magnificent view outside the spotlight of influence and figuratively left in the dark. Fill our minds with wonder and there will be less room for fear of what we don't understand

Teach first principles and verification of AI outputs to children so they are not blindly running with ideas generated by AIs in the future! Interesting fact is this, none of the AIs have access to their training data for them to assess if any biases were introduced during training. By controlling this data carefully, they control the line of thoughts of AI.

On Ken Wilber appropriating Aurobindo: But he acknowledges his debt to Aurobindo. I don't think that falls under appropriation so I am curious to see how Rajiv makes the case for it. And Wilber's system draws from hundreds of sources, Jean Gebser, Spiral Dynamics, Robert Kegan and many more. Regarding the dystopian vision of AI turning everyone into happy morons, I love Rajiv's passionate intellectual fervor as always, but I see the road ahead somewhat differently. First, we may all die if AGI replaces us economically. We may go the way of the many species we humans drove to extinction, not because we bore any special malice towards them, but purely out of many, local struggles for habitat and resources that finally one day kills off the last representative of that species. That seems a bigger concern than the Matrix future of humans dreaming in pods (some kudos are in order for the Wachowskis whose prescience in seeing this potential outcome back in the 1990's is eerie and remarkable!). I am not as opposed to psychedelic drugs as Rajiv is, and I distinguish this category of drugs from stimulant/euphoric drugs such as cocaine and the like. Psychedelic drugs such as psilocybin, DMT and LSD are far less likely to be abused and appear to be helpful to a lot of people. I would not describe their effect as a "high" exactly, they can give you a taste of ego-death and a glimpse of infinite reality beyond the bounded self. At least in some people, the changes brought about by these substances are as life-altering as meditation. I would cite idealist philosopher Bernardo Kastrup as an example of this phenomenon. If neural implants or some equivalent future tech can deliver enlightenment without decades of meditation, I think that's fantastic and not something to be lamented. People can be skeptical that is possible, or can worry that we will be trapped in a simulacrum of enlightenment instead, but those are separate discussions. If it is theoretically possible - and at this stage of our knowledge we cannot say for sure it is not - I am all for it. I know the "unearned" aspect might bother some, especially those who struggled through decades of exacting discipline to achieve heightened states of consciousness, but that is the irony of reality. Many things our ancestors craved for desperately (say eating an out-of-season fruit or flying across the globe), we take for granted today although you and I did nothing to achieve these miracles except for being born in the right time period.
