Since it operates in IR range of the light spectrum, it should be very handy in fog as well as in forest, to detect the animals hiding behind bushes just being ready to jump up on the road.
though I noticed it didn't highlight the pedestrian when the person was crossing the road, only when the person got to the other side did the highlight turn on. But something better than nothing.
Thinking about installing a few of these for if and when someone needs to do some ghost driving on the highway. Nothing crazy just prep for the apocalypse yk 😉

At 17:20 if there was a deer on the road, would it have enough contrast compared to the tree line that's shown in the video? The reason I ask is because it looks like the tree line is very bright and if there would be a deer. If it's the same color then it would be difficult to pick up before the AI technology can identify it as an animal. Thank you and looking forward to a reply
XionUnjust: What wasn't totally clear unless you look at around 17:29 is that the car was surrounded by a colored rectangle that changes color from green to yellow to red based on perceived danger (time or distance deliniated). The deer would be almost white in color and would stand out among the background trees but the rectangular, colored shape around the deer would eliminate any room for doubt.
Since this unit issues audible warnings a bigger screen may be a negative since one shouldn't be staring at the screen while using it. Once the audible signal is produced the safest way to use the screen is as you would your rear view mirror, a quick glance should do for identification and positional purposes.
What is it actually saying when it sees a pedestrian? it sounds like it says "passage". I just installed this on my own vehicle and i cannot figure out what it says. Maybe i'm going deaf?
I want this, but I can't seem to find anywhere to buy it. I often drive at nighttime in the country side, no lights, lots of COWS and some motorcycles with no lights. So this could hopefully make things a bit safer. I like the audible warning.

I drive a F-150 and the distance between my dash and seat is not the same as in a car. The screen is way too small for my vehicle. Needs a bigger screen.
Does it have any video output? Thinking about connecting to the car’s built in entertainment system. Also, is there a way to turn off some of those annoying notifications?
As yet… no and no. I’ve just had a firmware update sent over today to try that adds proper 1 minute video files onto the memory card. After using it in my vehicle since I did this video the notifications aren’t over the top to be honest, they are quite clever depending on the situation.
The trouble with putting the video into the car's built in entertainment system is that the car's system forces the user to take their eyes too far off the road and for too long. It's safer to have the screen close enough to the front view where this wouldn't be an issue. One can turn off the audible notifications by manually bringing the volume down but the volume would be lowered for all audible notifications as, currently, this unit doesn't allow one to choose which audible signals to lower. It's all or nothing.

High price compared to what? In terms of what's available for one's vehicle, especially considering its audible signal, it's the best unit at this time and, compared to other units that similar features, it's by far the least expensive to date. Currently this lists for $599 (dollars) while others go from $1,500 to $2,500+. I recently bought one and reduced the price as such: I opened up a checking account with a bank that gave me $250 to do so. I started a credit card (which I used to purchase the item, thus fulfilling the terms of the offer) and got an additional $200 credit towards my balance/purchase. I bought it while it was discounted to $569 (a Spring season sale). So, effectively it cost me $119.
@@VitalySokorenko You are confusing a night vision camera which this item isn't with thermal imagers which this item is. Night vision cameras magnify the available light but thermal imagers display ultrared light which penetrates fog, smog and rain easily. You should check what I've just stated here and, once you confirm its truth, delete or edit your statement as it incorrectly implies that the MV2 is a night vision camera.
