This is the final episode of my analysis of the current AI composition ability. I'll go through the decisions I made (I'm the human btw) and compare those decisions to what AI, in particular AIVA, is able to do.

You’ve provided a really interesting analysis of the current state of AI music making. I wonder what percentage of the population would be able to discern the differences. Perhaps the holy grail for programmers would be to understand, to an infinitesimal degree, the series of decisions that comprise an idea. Ultimately AI is able to produce another perspective on demand. It has the capability to exponentially increase the amount of music available within a set of programmed parameters. I wonder if the difference between AI and human is akin to travelling extremely fast and travelling at the speed of light. 🤔

You touched on a very important point: "Ultimately AI is able to produce another perspective on demand." Exactly! And that's why I'm interested in using it as a starting point, and why I've used it with EQ, and why it can give another take while mastering. I don't see AI as the overlords that will substitute musicians, producers and composers, although that will surely impact the market given the commercial implications (check the Rick Beato video on this, it's brilliant). To me, an hobbyist composer, these are just more tools to write music. I will never have AI writing a full piece and claim it is mine, but I'll happily use it as I use libraries and effects. If people will discern the differences? No. There's already a tremendous amount of bias, here's an example: I've received tons of feedback from people that know how I write music that my tracks sounds very artificial. I've also received tons of feedback from people that don't know how I write music that I play [insert instrument here] really well, meaning, my tracks are very human to them. People are biased and their perception taints their reality. If they don't know it's AI, they won't notice. This track is a great example, when you listen to the track and compare to my previous work, it sounds "Synaptic Schism" because I have a voice I developed over the years. If I released this track without these videos, no one would even consider it was AI that wrote the melody and the harmony.
