Aidan and Joseph O’Brien reflect on their successes in the Investec Derby. Values and stories like that of this father and son partnership underpin our sponsorship of the world’s greatest flat race.
I like how the O'Briens are so soft spoken, with a matter of fact-ness whilst conveying the race experience, and the horse's personality / physicality so beautifully that I feel like I get a really complete view for someone watching as opposed to experiencing the event first hand.
I remember I had Wings of Eagles at 40/1, tipped it to my mate at the snooker hall who worked there and he told me to behave myself...If I remember correctly Venice Beach was the the fave of the O Brien lot but Wings of Eagles was staying on strong behind him in a prep at leopardstown and because Padraig Beggy was jocked no one fancied it. Love horse racing.
Forget the balance round Tattenham corner...just blast a horse out the front to the winning post...will never win another race but easiest way to screw up the form book
