There are some elements of this adaptation that I respectfully disagree with. But there are some masterpiece moments. When I first heard that Sam Neil was announced to portray General MacArthur, I was afraid that he might have been miscast. But in the end, I found his stellar performance to be one of this mini-series’ finest assets. That moment when he and Lombard are talking to each other about their current predicament! I was amazed at the writing and acting for that particular scene.
