My village name is Sarai present day Dausa District Rajasthan. It was established during reign of Akbar on Old Fatehpur Sikri-Ajmer route to serve as checkpost and halting place for pilgrims visiting Ajmer and further going to Gujrat. Old fortress type brick and mortar building complete with stables and Water wells still exists. It has fallen into disrepair due to old age and neglect but nobody has dared to make homes or use it to store fodder and firewood. A single placard of Archeological Survey of India is enough deterrent for people.
Gurjar is correct. ASI or its localised text in immaculate blue board with white font is a deterrent. Maybe it is also coupled with heavy fines. Fines do work in societies with people hand to mouth.
Last sentence explains it all "Pakistani kiss tarah key loog hain"... There is something fundamental wrong which makes people behave this way. Thank you for showing us the reality of us all.
The good thing is that we have people like you even in a country called Pakistan. We have to be grateful for. Take care you did your best n the rest is up to this duffer administration.
Rohtas Fort has also become a village. On an unrelated note with reference to your mention of sufis, Bahu's "Abyaat" are his only work worthy of attention. The rest is humbug. I got to review it briefly it in the recent past and was shocked.
We The people of INDIAN subcontinent especially the North Indians, including our brothers there in PAKISTAN, we have in common" BULLDOZING PERSONALITY"😢😢
Sir affording the preservation of our heritage has its clear economics If the idiots in governments don’t pick that cost even trees can’t survive unless they have their utility You know it well Sir Yes we are the worst crowd in the world اسی آزادی کے لئے قائد نے بیڑا غرق کیا تھا اس عظیم ہندوستان کا !!
Salman Saheb, with all due respect, while your description of the dismal condition of historical monuments is saddening, could you perhaps offer some silver linings or reasons for hope regarding their preservation and restoration going on somewhere at present or in future?
