In this video I attempt to demystify some of the training seen in Aikido, Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, and other aiki arts. We look at some basic aiki-age training by grasping the wrists. The wrong approach is to use muscle against the force of your opponent’s pressure, but we still use muscle to move our skeletal structure. This principle is found throughout judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and many other arts where the objective focuses on not opposing force with force. We learn to move our structure in a way that effects our opponent’s structure with minimal effort.
