Can you explain the differences in the two iriminage versions that exist out there? 1) the way you and O-Sensei do it 2) the way the founders son and Chiba Sensei did it? Your way is how O-Sensei did it and the other way is different where they throw down uke first then clothesline him when he gets up again... why the differences? Where did the differences come from? Do the others not know their version of throwing down uke doesn't work?
I see a great variation in how much rotation is applied to uke before taking the throw. Is this not a matter of routine but you feel when his balance is taken before throwing?
Peter Allan, that's exactly it. No benefit in overdoing things. That's why it can get different from time to time, and certainly also from uke to uke. Well, there is also the difference between a direct entrance, sort of omote, and the roundabout one, sort of ura. But in both cases, I also need to be sensitive to how much of a spin is needed before the throw.

@@ngomyle oh most criminals do. We were training for real threats not sports. But if you mean sports you grab wrist to get wrist control and then do armbar. You grab wrist to do many many things. Mma easily loses to aikido. Armbars break arms so punching doesn't work against aikido.
