I know I'm late to the conversation. But you got the later HAG1 model where the antenna has the set screw. The earlier models didn't have the set screw. Also the radio is a dual bander. But locked to GMRS only. There's a firmware you can flash the radio that will let you operate it in 2m/70cm band.

Great review. There is one thing that you did not test. Try putting the antenna directly on the SW 102 with a N to SMA adaptor to see what the SWR and power to the antenna is. I just ordered the HA1G and speaker mic from Retevis. I have not received it yet. OK keep up the great work. Thank You.

How do you make sure you're transmitting on high power? Does it just stick to the "common theme" of 1-9 being low power, and 10-22+ being high power? Idk if thats a thing or not for all GMRS i just know I've had some Motorola talkabouts years ago, and I've got beofeng GMRS that naturally run low power on low channels and high power on high channels. Thx

I have never liked Retevis or their snooty reps. Always more hoops to jump through with Retevis to get their radios programed.

Hi, is there a way to bypass the “123456” password every time the radio is powered on? Its getting on my nerves!

Can anyone help me out and let me know why I cannot manually program more than 50 channels? The description says it's 250 channels, but it won't let me manually enter more than 50. I tried everything, I'm at a dead end, I read the manual 3x, googled around and nothing. I have a Mac and there's no programing software as of yet. I don't have access to a windows computer. I like the radio and hope someone can help me figure this out. Thanks in advance for any help/info!

Windows 11 sucks for many programs. Stick to windows 10 for most programming software. Windows 11 just doesn't have the support/optimization yet... Too new

I've had one of these for a few months. Really well made radio and the price is right. My issue I'm having is crashing the repeaters in my area. I can't seem to be able to find a fix for it. It appears most of the settings and options are all available in front face programming. I must be missing something.

Very loud squelch sound at the end of my transmission, or clerchunk sound. I’ve always heard the term crashing the repeater term.
