I know the price is a little steep at $270 but you’re getting a much better made shoe then say a Wave Runner at $300. These look great and can never go wrong with suede and mesh especially the mesh Teddy used on these. Can’t wait to get my pair!
100% agree on the price point, AUD just a little more than CAD so it more or less about the same price. It was a $435AUD retail which made me not sign up for the raffle, I understand that 991s have always been a premium price point and this Grey colourway is absolutely beautiful. Thats just want deterred me from entering, Can't have them all and I"d happy admire them from a far an example through this video. Great content!
great review sean! agree w/ your take...450CAD wow - special edition Horween, Bison leathers, 1300JP re-release weren't that high. We still have Kith summer + other collabs, 990 v6 launch + more anniv pairs in pipeline...crazy 2022. blessings
Sure the retail price point is a little steep, but I think the quality and craftsmanship help justify that. Both colorways are fire, but I went for and hit on this same gray pair and mine should be arriving tomorrow. Very excited to get these in hand cuz they’re going straight to the toe and like you stated: IYKYK.
Thank you for reviewing. I've been looking for a good unboxing and review. Despite the price tag I wanted a dope collab for my first New Balance and I won. I cant wait til I get mine in hand. They look beautiful...
Copped this grey pair and should arrive tomorrow. Now even more excited for the delivery after seeing this review! Interesting point about sizing, hope I got it right 🤞
the grey look amazing. went for the tan pair myself and waiting for those to come in. £275 was steep, but with some resemblances to the packer 992 and it being a leather NB, I just had to cop!
Great review and the additional sizing details are appreciated. I hit on the ALD raffle on this colorway (not the other 991 though), and I’m pretty excited.
The brown were the first time, in a long time, that I felt legitimate disappointment that I didn’t “win”. If resell doesn’t go too high, I’ll definitely be purchasing. Great review as always.
Great pick up Sean. I hit on the grey pair but went for both so I was disappointed that I didn't get the tans as well but hopefully resale tanks and I can scoop them up on the aftermarket.. fantastic review as always!!
I hit these on their raffle on a 9 was wondering if you and when you were going to drop a review. Thankfully it’s before my shoes arrive which say Friday. I’m happy for my first ALD pair. Seen a lot of Ws at least on this pair wondering if stock was higher than I normally thought
435 retail here in Australia. I didn’t hit on ALD so I just copped from stock X. I had to have these. The grey for me was the better of the 2. You’re right in saying you’d rather pay top price for great quality. I second that motion. Great review as always. I was waiting for you to review these.
How much AUD did you pay for your pair? Didn't even think of that since i'm Aussie based as well. Just checked the price for my size and its a wopping $1495 AUD HAHAH
Managed to score the brown pair but they haven’t arrived yet. Now I’m kinda wishing I would have gone for both. Your info on the sizing is good news for me. My 991YBG and 991ANI’s fit me great in my usual New Balance size so I picked up the 991BSG’s in the same size and they’re way smaller.
These look better than I thought! Man, this will be my first pair of 991’s but I chose size 10 as well..:hopefully they work. Perfect review Sean! Hey, by any chance are you going to review the Teddy MIusa white 990v2’s?
These look awesome. I already have sooo many grey NBs so I decided to go for the tan pair. Got shipping info yesterday-can’t wait to get them in hand. NB are killing my bank account at the moment 😂😂
@@TheJProducti0ns Probably when there will be greatest supply, and they will be closest to retail prices on stockx, goat, ebay. Usually resale prices bottom within a couple weeks to a month for shoes that have long term demand (like this one will)
I grabbed both pairs I prefer the leather ones and might end up selling these ones I’ve just been buying way too many kicks and teddy still has more shoes from the sixteen to drop
Tan pair arrived, I was blow away with the quality of these. What makes them different and what I like is that they are leather. PX point high but as with most N/B we pay for quality unlike the crap Nike is putting out. My rule is one bought now one needs to be sold, UGH! decisions, de
Got lucky on this CW but got an L on the tan one. Can't wait for my pair... still no shipping update though. I did a bit of workaround to avoid that steep CAD price and duty. Travelling for work so I will have mine ship to my hotel down in the US, so total came to CAD345.20 including taxes.
I felt the suede quality was actually lacking. It felt cheaper and not as plush as some of the other MiUS/MiUK pairs I have. I wonder if it’s a QC issue.
With you on this. I own like 100 pairs of MIUSA & MIUK Pairs and the suede is 1000% not as buttery. Kind of surprised actually considering its a collab. Ill be keeping mine either way though.
My pair took a lot of time to ship after i won the raffle and i finally receive my pair and my surprise on my pair on the back of the shoes i got 991 on both pairs it is supposed to be 991 on one pair and ALD for the other so im wondering how this happens😥😥😥 do you ever experience this Sean and im not sure how to handle this situation im not interest on a refund i really want that shoes because i got lucky on the raffle but it seems this is a factory error
You do realize that “sbb quality” is a joke right? Like Anvil Rose has straight up cut up the shoe in half and exposed it for what it’s really worth. It’s all hype. The reason why it feels/looks different was because those earlier pairs of the remastered AJ1’s (post 2014) were treated with a certain overlay they now stopped using on today’s AJ1’s. That’s the reason why those crystallized if they just sat and these new ones don’t. If you want good quality leather, get you a pair of high ‘85’s. Those are full grain leather.
@@06mikerome Nah bro RH uses top grain, pure aniline Berkshire leather that is hard tanned in Italy in a 150 year old tannery on their sofa's. Using only the finest of European hides. Well SBB's are even better than RH leather.
The pricing on these was ridiculous. I’m in the UK, where these shoes are made. Most made in UK 991s retail between £170-£200. I can accept £230 with the collaboration tax but these were actually £275 here in the UK. That is actually crazy. I entered for only one because of the price which was these because I prefer them but would have loved both. The price was only raised on these because they know us sneaker heads are still silly enough to pay it, which we did. It’s because so many people have normalised paying resell for shoes that this rise in the retail price is taking place. We only have ourselves to blame
@@SeanGo yeah youd be surprised I won the grey pair and I understand why a made in USA pair would cost us folks in the UK more as they have to be imported and they usually cost us around £200-220 pounds. Its embarrassing that we in the UK have to pay £190 for a GR Made in UK pair which would cost people in the USA $240 and if you compare that with what people in USA pay for a made in USA pair which is about $180 its atrocious really
Wow, that's nuts you got yours fast! Got a W on the grey pair, but have yet to receive shipping. The price tag hurt, but I definitely agree that it's subjective. I was more than okay paying the price for a made in UK sneaker, with quality materials/craftsmanship. It just makes the sneaker that much more special. Like you said, IYKYK. Going to the UK in October for vacation and these are coming with me back to their home!
The price is definitely ridiculous. However, the brands are saying, hey you guys pay the resale even when complaining. Let me just up my price and fatten my pockets. Can you blame them? Demand is clearly there. Point to note though, NB is traditionally pricier but I feel with advancements in technology and efficiency that no way their shoes should still be this costly even if MiUK or MiUSA. They are maintaining fat margins based on the historical perception of being pricier and laughing all the way to the bank.
@@dannyramirez7892 for this specific collab it was 225 to 250 pounds, about 275 USD for ppl in the US and about 355 CAD for people in canada, and then still taxes.
These are not that great people going wild because is ald but if the name wasn’t attached no one would buy these they’re pretty average just my opinion
