F-8E is an excellent aircraft at 10.3 BR in War Thunder. AIM-9C only is not only fun but also is a viable strategy to dominate higher altitudes. F-8E is a good dogfighter and definitely holds a spot among the best 10.3 aircraft.

I swear, whenever I'm playing one of my Mig-19's and see this thing at altitude, my life flashes before my eyes. The F-8E was one of the first US planes I played so much I got ace qual for free

@@A-Warthog-cc1wm Yes it is. You can dodge it kinetically in front-aspect, but it can be quite an ask if not outright impossible depending on parameters. Only real defense against it is chaff or blending in with ground clutter to prevent acquisition

My favorite aircraft in the entire game. It is a BEAST in Simulator Battles. The Aim-9C is so much more capable than people realize/expect I also do the same exact thing with it in RB. I climb and whack all the MiG-21 that climb to altitude looking to "trick" people with their R-3R lol

bro idk bout you but when im in my mig21mf i absolutley whack the living shit out of like 3 F8's cuz i carry usually 3 R3R and 1 R60 and the R3R's rarely miss, its like a guarenteed 2-3 kills every game, any missile with any G-pull can be deadly as hell as long as you know how to use it

@@Johnathan-mj4ei single chaff and R-3R is gone (just like AIM-9C though). Also if you go in sustained turn fight with competent F-8, you are boned.

F8E is soooo underappreciated just because it is not famous as Mig 21 and F4s. the weapon system is so reliable and airframe is so good after they fix the rip wing problem. love the vid good camera usage

when im flying a-5c the best way to not be killed by them is to be going fast and within 3km of them preferably going perpendicular to get out of missile gimbal limit

One of my favourite plane in the entire game. Nice montage! And almost the same config but i usually take 2x Aim-9D and 2x Aim-9C. Also i don't have an expert crew

I like how the F-8E is supposed to have a shittier smaller radar set but is less affected by ground clutter than the F-4E to the point it's practically look down shoot down at close range.

In my experience I am unable to lock anything with F-8E radar unless it's flying at above 3k meters altitude. These missiles are a pretty nasty surprise for MiG-21 space climbers though. Wish the plane wasn't wobbling left and right at mach 1 too.

I immediately checked the video release date to see if it's a recent one. Because, in my experience as well the Radar does not show anything let alone to be able to lock on to anything if I am flying below 3000 m or looking down. I was like how da heck this guy can see anything with the same radar 😀

Will you do a video on the R-3R? I enjoyed it a lot when I first got the Mig-21SMT I'm sure it's probably not as reliable as the 9C But it's very situational I always take atleast 1 with me anytime I play the Mig-21SMT. All in all very good video

I always carried full load of R-3R on my SMT. They are FAR more reliable than R-3S and you'd be surprised by the amount of people who pitch up and then go get a coffee only to find themselves back in hangar when they come back. Will it win you a BVR fight with a competent player who's paying attention? no. Is it capable and can take out people at high alts if pre-aimed? absolutely. First time I had that much fun in the RU tree!

OK definitely it's not working. Wings rip of at any hard maneuver. And the radar is not shoving anything below 3000m or when slightly looking down. How did you recorded this video with all those games where you easily see the enemy on radar and can lock onto them? I just don't get it. I played more than 20 matches since yesterday, half of them up-tiered and got dusted immediately. And I couldn't able to use the radar in the rest of them, eventually getting into turn fight where my wings ripped off like biscuits in every one of them. Do you do anything else which can be seen in your game play? Because I watched it and no such thing happening in my matches.

@@theliteralworst9416 and the fact that it's a fox 1 fired from a plane that often sees planes without chaffs. And is able to pull 18g. And is faster than the R3R while having more range. But yeah, its only redeeming quality is the burn time and low br.
