As the director of film said that in the year 2017 she visited but no one allowed her to go as we assume by her statement that they don't understand any other language so she learned the language and than only after that she went.Now my question is crystal clear the person who gave interview regarding hospital in Hindi also used two or three words in English than how could she say they don't understand anyother language.Next it can never be happened that people of village doesn't want hospital school.Its 21st century No tribal community have gender biased.As in Dimasa community both male and female are given same respect and love.I have not seen the film just listen .I am staying at haflong since 1987.Very much well known to Dimasa people.They are very friendly gives equal respect to both gender welcomes all tourist with love

You mean Assamese has no history or culture. Are you in a slumber or living under a stone? Ever heard of Xattriya Nritya one of the 8 classical dance of India or the Bihu dance? Ever had the glimpse of Axomiya gamosa, and Kati Bohag Magh Bihus and the rituals happens during it? It's all Assamese, let me repeat it cause it seems you have no clue. And it falls under culture. Assamese is a composite community. People from various timelines came to Axom and formed the jaati.
When i first saw the trailer i was really shocked to see that our dimasa community also follows such kind of practices. But after the truth was spilled regarding this matter it was understood that the movie has been portraying false story on the people of Semkhor . Dimasa people never has or never will encourage such kind of evil custom .

Scriptwriters/filmmakers who are intellectually challenged go for simple digestible black and white scripts. They can never handle the intricacies of a culture. Representing a culture (especially the weaker one in the power dynamic) requires serious ethnographic study. Even anthropology during the colonial times was biased and was following the white man’s gaze. This film reflects the sheer insincerity and their motive to capitalise on “exotification” and “othering” of a culture. Such writers feed on the cultural stereotype. This disease happens in various cultural degrees like tribals misrepresented by non tribals, northeasterns misrepresented by mainland Indians or Indians misrepresented by the West. “Savaging the Civilised”
Never heard of this movie😅 being dimasa. I think she is saying all this for creating more curiousity to watch this movie. But she should not spread false information about our people
The Semkhor villagers could speak much better Hindi to convey the dire situation they face. Their Hindi is far far better than the Hindi of the vast majority of assamiyas of Assam. So Semkhor is not reclusive but open to the outside world. That's the truth.
I am left speechless. How could Miss Kanika Hojai stay dumb and not say anything after listening to Aimee Baruah's false statement which she had presented at the press conference in Goa when Miss Kanika was with her at the conference itself! Wow!

Can we really stop pretending and genuinely respect other tribe/community someday in NE ?? We must stay together to stop racism outside atleast ! This is exactly the reason why when someone (a researcher, outside of my tribe, particularly a non tribal) asks me if he/she can to do research on my/our history, I without a second thought give a clear cut denial response...."we are fed up of outsiders representing us in the way we are not ! Now give us peace and let us write our history/ story on our own ". This doesn't mean that I don't co-operate with any researchers at all, if a researcher asks me to be his/her informant, I do a background research of that researcher first, I can't help but be picky on that matter🥲

Has she been fooled by someone? The way she is representing Semkhor so confidently without knowing the reality? How can she be fooled by someone that too, too easily? Couldn't she confirm about the village demands by any other people repeatedly unless and until it is too clear? This all shows how dumb she is, how she conduct herself and how anyone can easily fool her omg . Such a foolish team, made a movie without proper research & efforts and without knowing it's consequences. However if they were all aware from the beginning though they made the movie intentionally to gain popularity. Then everyone should condemn the main lead members of the team.
