Have looked at things like this, but still too expensive for me. But would love having one. It sure looked fun. And bring memories back, when I was a kid and we went to the shoe maker to buy this type of badges. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
They turned out great! I'm sure you'll have to get used to it, but now you can probably get rid of the other bulky ones like you said earlier. 😂 Always down for freeing up space! This model is so much fun! 💓
The colouring book is a magic trick. If you flip the pages from the top corner, the middle or the bottom corner, you get different images showing. If you do it the right way, first the pages will look blank, then they will have a black and white drawing, and then they will be full colour. Other than that, it comes down to whatever your story is to explain the "magic". Other than that, you could use the bl& w or the coloured designs to make your buttons if you don't care about using it as a magic trick. Likely you could find a video on RU-vid explaining how to do the "Magic Colouring Book" magic trick.

I bought the we are memory keepers one which is about the same price as this one and it doesn't press the edges very well... would you recommend this amazon one?

2.5 needs 2.625 1 is 1.313 1.25 is 1.629 Unfortunately these will still be off by just a little bit because this button machine is actually in metric so the 1-in isn't exactly 1 in etc

You've probably figured it out by now, but the reason the front doesn't line up with the backing is because when you slide it over, there's a nub that shoves the upper part a bit to the side. The design is therefor always revealed at about a 70° angle, so you have to place the backing at a 70° angle as well :) The exact angle depends on the size of your buttons though. I printed a circular protractor and used that as a test button to mark the machine/molds at the correct angle. Hope that helps someone!
if you don't want to spend a lot the machine is nice, but the button backs are plastic. American made machine have american made supplies and all metal. You can convert your red machine mould by taking off the mould it has and putting on American moulds which you ca get
I haven't tried it with metal back pins, but you have to be careful of size because these machines are Asian and a lot of the metal back pins are made for the American machines which are off by just a touch because of the difference in inches versus millimeters 😅
For some reason I think the "coloring" book really just needs water to activate? Still not sure if it was a bonus for the package or a mistake, but.. yay for bonus items? 🌈😂
the book that comes with it is a magic book hold it out like you are showing a bunch of kids flip the pages from the bottom and it will show all blank pages then flip the book from the top and it will just show drawings with no color then flip the pages from the middle and it will show all the drawings colored i just got a button press and my brother use to be a magician he figured it out thats why the pages are cut funny and why there is black pages in between other pages
The proper size hole punches that you would need are for a 1 in button you need a 1.313in hole punch, for the 1.25 in button you need a 1.629 hole punch, and for the 2.25-in button you need a 2.625-in hole punch, if you Google search them there are specialty hole punches in the sizes specifically for making buttons. I tried to cheat and buy just regular hole punches but as you can see from the video the one I purchased for the 2.25 in button maker is too small and doesn't work properly. I actually did buy one of the specialty ones for the one inch button maker from button boy but they are a bit expensive.

I think a lot of fabrics might be too thin but all you have to do is put one of those pieces of paper behind it and I bet it would work 💜 I might experiment with that 💜 thank you 💜
