Especially when you consider that the reason why Sandalphon searched for the meaning of his being/existence as a Primarch is actually because he just wanted to be of use to Lucifer [from what I remember]. But that wish ended up being betrayed in worst ways possible. I consider that, to him, having no role means that not only he has no reason of being on his own, because he's only a replacement, it also means that he thought that he couldn't be of use to Lucifer. However, while he can get a role as a Primarch, that role can only be gotten when something happens to the person he loves and respects the most....

Oh that's because Sandalphon wanted to spend more time with Lucifer, they liked to drink coffee together. When Lucifer died, he gave his powers to Sandalphon and that also ment giving his wings....

Haruka Yuki Sandalphon(the one who sing this song), is created as a “substitute” for Lucifer. But Lucifer treats him as a friend, he taught him how to make coffee. Now Lucifer got decapitated by the villains, he gave his power to Sandalphon(which is why there’re lyrics saying the wings Lucifer gave him are too white for his back to bear). And Sandalphon is hoping one day he can have a cup of coffee with Lucifer again.

The first 2 parts of the event (What Makes The Sky Blue) which tells this story is now available as a side story (meaning you can play it whenever you like). The third part is an event called 000 which will be released as a side story as well later 2020 (around April/March).

I have the same take like you.The concept of love for primarch is something unnatural, since they dont reproduce like normal creature and they dont have human customs like marriage and dates. ( Pls let us date Olivia). But that doesnt mean the bond between the two isnt real, they truly care about each other more than anything.

I know, that's why its just my personal opinion. However, at the risk of going on a rant, I'll tell you the reason why I think "why" is more apt or fitting translation. First, I would like to stress that this is just my personal opinion, without the intent of making anyone accept my preferred translation, and, realizing that some of my wordings might make me come across like a weaboo, I assure you that I do NOT think that everything is better in Japanese, this is just my preference in translation. Now without further ado.... First, GBF's official English translation tend to change some of the original Japanese meanings, either into a similar meaning/word or something different entirely. Take some of the Revenant Weapons for example, the kanji of Seven Star Sword in Japanese still means Seven Star Sword and the Kanji for Realm in Nine Realm Harp can mean both Realm and World, however, Two Crown Bow's Kanji actually means Two Kings Bow and Ten Wolf Gun's Kanji is actually Ten Wolf Thunder/Lightning, not to mention that Luminiera was originally Chevalier in the Japanese dialog. Second, Japanese is a hard language to read, write and speak, to the point that even Japanese people themselves sometimes mistook the meaning of another person's words. That's why when I translate Japanese to another language, not only English, I also use a word association game kind of thing. In this case, "どうして空は青いのか” becomes "Why is the sky blue" which then becomes "The reason the sky is blue" which became "What makes the sky blue", at this point, there is nothing wrong with the translation. However, when I translated "What makes the sky blue" into back into Japanese, it became "何で空は青いのか” which is closer to "with what is the sky is blue" or "what is the thing that makes the sky blue" or What colors the sky blue" which makes it a bit iffy for me because the nuance is like there is a definite object that makes the sky blue in the GBF universe while the storyline implied that its actually more of abstract or poetic meaning, something like, Lucillius and Bellial was trying to destroy the Sky Realm but through the efforts of Gran/Djeeta, Lyria, Sandalphon and others, the sky once again became blue, or the sky is blue because the protected the Sky Realm, etc. Third, is a bit unreliable reason, but I think I heard Lyria actually say ”なぜ空は青いのか” at the end of the first part of the "What Makes the Sky Blue" trilogy, which is actually more in line of "why is the sky blue" and "the reason the sky is blue" rather than "what makes the sky blue" Fourth, in my opinion, when dissected, the part where Sandalphon sang ”どうして空は青く...” actually becomes "why is the sky blue and wishes went further away the more you ask [them]" which is to my preferences compared to "what makes the sky blue, and wishes went further away the more you ask" because to me it was a bit disconnected

damedatta lyria said something different on that part and also got translated differently, no one says what makes the sky blue in the event, it’s the name of the event but dosent imply that ppl will go around saying it, the meanings are different, event is named as such because it a poetic meaning, the people protecting, the adventures, the archangels só on, all of them make the sky blue, and more than any, sandalphon and Lucifer, when lyria says why is the sky blue it’s a literal question not a rhetoric one like the event title
