Woman in yellow shirt still has the moves from 65...she clearly feels the soul of this classic timeless song, and great to see these people dancing - she just gets the rhythm and beat and does not over play the moves. Pleasure to watch.
For sure ,, this one is a classic, this is like when you say .."ah sukee sukee nawh" ...These ladies are cuttin' tha rug.. My mother god rest her soul loved this song alo
Yes, this is one of the best line dances created back in 1965 in Philly, and you there in Texas can be sure to know you have the spirit and the soul behind this dance that is 48 years old-and was called "The Chez Vous Walk"-and now referred to as "The Marvin Gaye Walk"-and check out KennyJ DOING THE CALLING OUT OF THE STEPS TO THIS LINE DANCE. We also did a dance called "The Wagner Walk" to this song by Marvin Gaye from 1965 at the Jerry Blavat Dances in Philadelphia-that continue today. Texas?
From Chicago age 59 . This video lifted my spirit. Took me back to high school. Spur of the moment get down between classes. We loved each other more than we wanted to kill each other. This video clip is magical !
This is cool as hell. I grew up outside Detroit and attended Willow Run High School (where Nick Ashford graduated) . The black kids loved their Motown, and yes, they could dance waaayyyyy better than us white students
@@serenityflies1462 they certainly are, and it starts with their taste in music. Bless you for allowing me to start my day off with positive vibes. Peace & love. ✌
After this past year I had to revisit this video for good vibes. Now more than ever I need something like this. Some good oldies, room filled with fun people and scratching up a floor. I feel like crashing some weddings this summer. #FUCOVID19
I have been doing this dance since 1965 in Philadelphia, PA , and it was called "The Chez Vous Walk" , and the line dance came from the teens who danced at The Jerry Blavat Record Hops of the mid 1960's. The dance is often called "The Marvin Gaye Walk" as done by Soul line dancers, like KennyJ in South Jersey.
What a delicious & Unforgetable Marvin's Masterpiece!!!.But I agree with other people,in the sense,yellow shirt`s lady,moves pretty well.She defintly,gets the groove!!!.
The name of this dance was originally "The Chez Vous Walk" called this because it was created at the Chez Vous Roller Rink in West Philly/Upper Darby, PA, in 1965, at the Jerry Blavat Record Hops, and is called The Marvin Gaye Walk NOW
I would love to fly to what ever city in Texas you are from, and get to line dance with this lady in the yellow shirt, as she is so full of the joys that come when dancing to this song from 1965. What city in Texas?
I'm watching this in England, and I think that these ladies are fantastic! I would like to know if this particular dance style was popular back in the mid sixties, or is it something that was choreographed more recently?
i like watching this video, that woman in the yellow striped shirt is having a blast. she probably had the 45 to this, and danced around her house when she was a teenager. look how much fun she is having, not a care in the world. maybe we should all learn from it?
If you are in a bad mood, watch this video. you'll feel better instantly. watch the lady in the yellow striped shirt. She's having a ball!!! i bet she probably was a teenager when this song came out.
Houston, TX. And yes Nick, we received more positive comments on this video than any other. She is a great dancer with a wonderful spirit. Where are you from?
