Ainokura & Shirakawa-go Japan - Tranquil Wooden Traditional Houses 

We drove from Kanazawa and visited the Unesco World Heritage sites of Ainokura in Gokayama and Shirakawa-go in Gifu on a clear summer day. Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil villages with traditional wooden homes. We highly recommend that you rent a car if you want to explore these villages at your own pace.
