fun fact: Ainz is one of a very small percentage of players that was able to get the timing right for the time stop/ delay magic combo, as you're not supposed to be able to do damage in time stop, but by using delay magic at the right timing you can do as you just saw ainz do with his instant death spell. So even though it was quick, what he just did took insane amounts of skill.

So, IDK why everybody keep explaining the title is PvP because Gazef is a person from a new world because the point here isn't that, at least in my opinion. The fight against Gazef is PvP because Ainz fights him like he would fight any other player. That means no plays, no "experiments", no testing or teasing like he did with nazarik invaders or Clementine. Only full strength Ainz with a clear goal to win the fight, that's why it was so quick. The fight with Shalltear is PvE because, well, she's an NPC. Also, kind of a weak point, but still, in fights against Shalltear Ainz used some tactics that would be available only in PvE fights, like pre-buffing before aggro or using the knowledge of all skills the NPC can use.

Gazeff loosing the battle in an instant is the point of the series. Normally people might think "Wow, there will be an epic battle here", or some might even think Ainz has to loose, since he is clearly morally in the wrong here. That's the twist. There are no shonen battles in Overlord, at least not against Ainz. No plot armor for those who are "in the right". Power rules the world. Ainz is the most powerful being in this world, and no one can best him. To the New World, he is essentially like a lovecraftian alien, a god of incomprehensible power. Who is he gonna mess with next? How will people adapt? How will they react to this threat and develop? Who will live or die? The strength of Overlord lies in the development of it's side characters, Nazarick for the most part acts like an antagonist force would in other stories, the author uses Ainz and Nazarick as a tool to make his other characters grow. Though I will say that the novels present it much, much better than the anime.

The punishment system of nazarick is quite simple. The lesser offenses are punished with painless death, and with severity the amount of pain/torture increases.

The reason why it's called PVP is simple : Ainz respects Gazef. It's the very reason why he used one of his highest-ranking spells (Time Stop) and did so in the most quickest, most painless way possible. And I don't know if this counts as a spoiler since it's never addressed directly even in the light novels, but Ainz's respect towards Gazef is so great that even after his death Ainz still uses Gazef as a form of comparison of strength in the New World (Like say if Ainz encounters a new person/creature, he would try, in his mind, to see how strong they are compared to Gazef).

This should be only info from the LN that won't be shown in the anime, but better be safe (info on the Ainz-Gazef fight): IIRC, Gazef's reasons for challenging Ainz instead of submitting to him were: gathering info on his powers, slowing down or even stopping the massacre to allow the survivors and the King to escape, keep being an example for the commoners to look up to and not give another reason for nobles to attack the King or the commoners as people of no honor. On the other side, Ainz's respect for Gazef was shown in multiple ways: he attacked him with one of his most powerful spells as he would another maxed out player, he respected all his wishes (no looting), he stepped away as was customary in PvP (far enough for a caster to have time to cast a spell, close enough for a warrior to have the time to run towards him), he used an instakill spell that prevents lower resurrect magic from working, and he did not hold back at all, instead killing him instantly. Remember last time he made a battle last? He had no respect for his opponent at the time (a certain dagger wielding girl approximately as strong as Gazef).

To be fair, Ainz needed to break the spirit of the girl in order for the to despair and realise the folly of her actions, only then could she be allowed to die. Gazef did not need any such humiliation nor did he deserve it. There was respect in that he accepted the duel and also went all out, but also in that he offered to resurrect him but allowed him to be taken away when he could have easily taken his body by force.

So: - Momon was actually Pandora's Actor. He's a Doppelganger, so he can copy basically anyone's skills and stats except HP and MP. Most likely he copied Ainz, casted Perfect warrior on himself and put on Momon's armor to act as Momon. - Kuma: "This is so cringey", Ainz: "I know right?" - PvP not because Gazef is a player or as strong as a person, but Ainz considered him as a Player, which means he's going to fight seriously. - A good fight? Oh boy, here comes S4.

So we finally have the final episode. Gazef mentioned that he didn’t want to be resurrected and he had some reasons for that. The first reason is that he believed that everyone only has one life. Which is why he dislike resurrection magic. Another reason is that “If Gazef died, then the King could spread the news that he had lost an important subject. That way, the King could temper the hatred and resentment which the people would feel towards the royal family for all the deaths in this battle.” Ainz respected Gazef so he didn’t pull any punches and used his time stop spell. To finish off Gazef he used [Delay Magic - True Death]. This is a ninth tier spell that prevent low tier resurrection spells from working. Now that the Overlord anime is over for now here are the volumes that were adapted. One season is equal to three volumes. Volume 1: The Undead King Volume 2: The Dark Warrior Volume 3: The Bloody Valkyrie Volume 4: The Lizardman Heroes Volume 5: The Men in the Kingdom Part 1 Volume 6: The Men in the Kingdom Part 2 Volume 7: The Invaders of the Large Tomb Volume 8: The Two Leaders Volume 9: The Magic Caster of Destroy There is still some Overlord content that can be reacted to such as Isekai Quartet and Ple Ple Pleiades which are more comedy focused. But other than that all we have to do is wait for season 4 and the movie. Hope to see your reactions to those when they finally come out.

you might consider it cringey that he's created a situation where he can play the hero but it's actually a smart move. People don't trust or like Ainz but they seem to love Momon and will likely share secrets and information with him because of it. or at least trust him enough to keep them safe. so what I got from this is that he's tricked people into putting too much faith in his Momon persona. sometimes all it takes is one "hero" to maintain order. now I haven't read any books, manga or whatever, so I can't say if that was his intention or not.

Indeed it is, playing both sides simultaneously. One as the Overlord and final boss who rarely directly engages in combat (and can be substituted with our favourite German guy) and the other, the Hero who can be the face of the rebellion. Love it.

Funny thing, Ainz killing Gazeff like that was not cheap. It was mercy. Ainz could have let him attack in vain, then crush his heart, age him to an old man or tear him limb from limb while subjecting him to unimaginable horror. Instead he choice to stop time and hit him with an instant death spell that causes no physical or otherwise "damage", simply just inflicts "instant death". Gazeff did not realize a thing, and died without pain, his honor and dignity intact.

But back in the game most player have basic knowledge about time stop and insta death spell so most of player had the item/passive/skill who nullified the time stop. And time stop using if you want to wait your certain cooldown skill and activation spell time. Btw this is not the first time Ainz using time stop magic in the worker raid, he use time stop to teleport behind imina (purple hair girl) but its never mentioned in anime.

Technically there is still more Overlord to watch. It has chibi series called Pure Pure Pleiades and it is glorious. Isekai Quartet also involves Overlord but I’m sure you’re waiting to react to rye other anime involved with that first.

i've just recently discovered your reaction, and while i love the sadistic talks, i can't help but roll my eyes on alot of things. Such as your talk over solution "betrayal" or in this case, lamenting the situation that Ainz had created to make himself look good. But the beauty of this scene is "psychological" as well as it is of a power trip. Just think...what it takes to take and hold E-Rantel with little to no rebellion and to have its population continue to live and report any other hostile entities (such as the slane theocracy) Hint: The people's Trust in Momon is one of the reasons out of 3

Know that they also made videos with are practically only spoilers but they are easy to spot.

indeed, this was abundantly clear in the dub, in the sub Demiurge says that only a certain leader was worth anything not mentioning who even though it was pretty easy to guess it was her but without confirmation. Here in the dub he specifically says 'The golden princess' Of course Shaltear not attacking the group of Climb, Brain and whatshisface in the previous season gave a good hint that someone they worked with wanted Climb alive.

It's not a game it's a new world, each of these people are actually people. It's very possible that someone skilled in manufacturing items from their life in the old world should be able to reproduce them in this one, thus a rubik's cube shouldn't be too tough to make.

@@NinjaKumaReacts so basicaly the 13 heros the evil gods any mention of gods and legendary heros were npc's from the yggdrasil lore like the elf king ...the others were players like ains but the new world was lucky ...kinda... most npcs and player that were transported had limited lifespan.... like if you used to play a human character you would die from old age eventualy. one of the reason the platinum dragon lord dosent like ains is because he is a player and is immortal so are everyone in nazarick they are all heteromorphs that either does not posses a life span or has one like ...100x greater then humans.. (aura and mare)... the chances of someone from yggdrasil being in the new world with ains is VERY high but them being a player is pretty much impossible ... those with power in this world will allways be in the spot light even if they try hiding . its almost a law in this world because it is not a fairy tale type world....also there is a condition to be transported in this new world. you need to be in proximity to a World Level Items wich big surprise are ultra rare in the game and only a few guilds had them and most of those were handled by no one as a trump card saved in reserve or monopolise it to themsleves but even so there are less then 200 world items and they are guarded by bosses .etc...if your smart you catched that those are the npc's some of them joining the 13 heros the others doing their own things. So to be honest the chances of a player being allready there before ains is definitive but it has been 200 years since they were on earth and they were humans or humanoids for the most part 200 years is too long for them to be alive hence the theocracy gloryfing them as the 6 great gods that protected humanity.. the rubix cube lady (zesshi) is a child born from a players kid that did it with the elf king an npc from yggdrasil she is as player as one can be born in this new world... but what is interesting is that the possibility of someone new coming the new world is high because not all the world items have been summoned yet.

@@NinjaKumaReacts yeah, but we also saw the perspective of the enemy and the rubix cube was there to confirm the theory of players. Overlord is a series that every time I re-watch, I learn something new(or reread in case of LN), that's why i love it.

The Kuma in this episode was sooo wrong at so many things, lmao. Also why u cringed every time someone showed emotions!? Well putting these aside, let's talk about ainz and momon. I was shocked to see a person that likes steratgy like u, completely miss the point of the final battle, momon vs ainz was not there to make ainz happy, instead it made sure that people aren't too scared, since momon is equal to ainz in power, and from now, even if any other countries try to mess with people's emotion they will make contact with momon and it automatically will inform nazaric of the rebellion, it's a genius idea in my opinion.

The Momon strategy makes sense, Ainz simply outplayed the blonde haired emperor at his own game. Hmm that's a fair point, holding back would be toying with him. We just wrapped up Tanya the Evil, and yes that was a tickle I fancy given the strategy in it.

@@NinjaKumaReacts There was a line in season 2, which was connected to the Rubik's cube. You can go back to season 2 episode 1, it should be the first scene. They say that the Rubik's cubes were a trial from the "Six Great Gods" and that in 6 centuries few have passed it.

I see what you mean by pvp and honestly i also thought there may appear a player when i read the title in my first watch through. It is indeed not a pvp since Gazef is not a player. Technically theres no such thing as players anymore since its a real world, but i think we all define ex-yggdrasil-players as players. At the same time Gazef isnt a npc either. So its neither pvp nor pve. It was only called a pvp cause ainz fought the way he used to against players. So kinda overkill. As you called it "cheap", yet it was the only way to pay maximum respect to Gazef due to fighting him as if he was a max level player. I like that but i was a little disappointed too back then since i got wrong expectations by the title ^^

Ive watched a lot of overlord reactions. It is my favorite anime, even though i understand that objectively it isnt the best ever made. I have never felt the need to leave a review on these reactions, until now. I was patient, I waited and waited, but even to this last episode, it is clear that this reactor is clueless. Since S1 people were getting muted for telling him things he should already know, and it never got better. He never learned. He never even realized the world Ainz is conquering is as real as Earth. Every other reactor Ive seen had at least understood the basic premise by the end of season one, yet here we are at the end of anime content entirely and we haven't even cleared that benchmark. Overall the absolute worst Overlord reaction on youtube I've been privy to even with the added bonus for watching dub. All the charm and jokes in the world can't fix a lack of comprehension. If you don't even understand what you're reacting to, why would I be invested in your reaction? For those who've seen his other reactions, is it that bad on those too? Like did he get that youjo senki is a real world, or did he think Tanya got sucked into a history book?

Nah man don't apologise, your opinion is entirely valid. Guess what tripped me was "Ainz is in a videogame, and suddenly it's real" so I probably have a SAO perspective and think of this world like WoW, probably because they never went into the whole "how" element. Tanya is a bit different, since in Tanya its explained in Ep 2 what's going on. EP 1 is more trying to comprehend what's thrown into the anime. It's a good laugh, I say give it a shot and if you can try wipe your dislike before you do.
