Really miss this game considering you were able to play with so many of the same people and learned their play skill and easily able to keep in touch, something that MMO's seem to struggle with now. Played this game from release to 2016 and really enjoyed it. I would play it in a second, being older, I just can't bring myself to spend like I did to keep up with end game pvp and pve content, good times though.
i first found your channel in 2010 i was already playing aion but you gave me so many hints and tips of what to do and for that i thank you it was sad when the game declined and every vid i saw you lose a little bit more of the love for the game but i'm glad you came back and did this i tried the FREE lol which is NOT free and i'm done back to lost ark for me but the nostalgia took me back to simpler times which was worth the 10 hours i spent in the game .
The long farm to the 50th level, the dredgions, late night ig talks on mumble, dark poeta, the balaurea extension... such good memories, I wish I will find some time to rediscover this epic game, thanks for this video !
Very good review! I agree that name of the game should be Aion Remastered, not Aion Classic but its a very good marketing move from NCSoft to name it Aion Classic since that name will attract much more players to the game. EU release was a big success, even I am surprised by number of players which officially is not revealed but max capacity on Atreia(which is full) is between 15k and 20k players plus at least 10k players on Tahabata, so 25-30k players is really good for release. Overall game feels amazing under the fingers and at this moment while we wait for some other big releases later during 2023 its a really good option to play for people who like to play real PC MMORPGs. P2W is low, hype is high, thats all we need for now. Nice to see you in the game, man! Its a shame you where not there with us in prerelease events and preparations, but we will see each other in game!
questions about a couple of things that the video didnt talk about, hope some could answer: How does it compare to the "normal" latest/current version of AION? Are there pros and cons between them or is classic just straight up better? Graphics wise is it the same as it was in 3.0 (it really was a looker back then) or have they improved it any? Is it using the same graphics engine as the "normal" AION? Lastly which version of the original AION is the classic meant to be?
@@kiriup8188 , Classic is much less P2W then Aion Live, also without many new in-game features which have made Aion Live to complex. Aion Classic is the basic, starting and the best version of the game. Classic is just strait up better! Regarding graphics, game engine is still the same like Aion Live, but graphics are better then in the past, remastered! Last question... version of the game? None! Aion Classic is not reboot of the game, the name of the game should be Aion Remastered because it only starts with version 1.2 (1.9 in EU) but there is no end with new patches and updates incoming and NCSoft is already now on update 2.8 in Korea with new class, dungeons and other content never before seen in world of Aion... so, Aion Classic actually is not Aion Classic. name was given because of marketing benefits. Some similarities do exist with older patches and we are getting old maps and features but changed a lot. Aion Classic in KR is a big success and its earing money to NCSoft so we will see many new patches and updates there and here in EU version of the game officially supported by NCSoft.
Great points. Especially with the fact that they should hold for this patch for longer, to give casual players a space to breathe, rather than try to please top players.
*nostalgia hits hard* I played when it first came out. on an off. it was my first MMO ever and I love all my Asmodian characters (deleted the Elyos ones xD) will definitely check classic out.

Aion is still my best experience ever. By the way, good old times when I found your channel with guides on youtube, Sywo :) What a memories, OMG... Being the first player around who gets the Fiora plant that can grow you unique wings and you have to water it, and the whole guild of people helping you to water it for 30 days and then finally getting those wings. Or take the PVP aspect of Aion. Never ever I've experienced anything like that.

I am so sad to miss the early patches of this Aion "classic" release. I played the OG patches 12-13 years ago, I was a broke teen playing with a terrible PC but still manage to have a ton of fun, even made a video. I feel the "more of now" sentiment, but I don't have nearly enough time to invest in the game as I did back then. My utopia would be retiring to an actual Aion classic server, you know with original rates and no cash shop.

I was playing the OG Aion when I was a kid and re-discovered Aion when they removed 90% of the game to focus on PvP only. I was already downloading Aion Classic and while I was waiting I found your video and it made me uninstall the game before trying it. I can't afford a monthly sub like that + battle pass right now, I'm looking for free braindead fun, and I guess I will stick with Guild Wars 2 for now, I bought that game years ago. Makes me really sad

I love good graphics so Aion is definitely not something I'd be playing but I like how people still play older games like this one. I tried getting into FFXIV but just couldn't due to its clunkiness and tabbed combat. After Lost Ark other games just felt bad until I found Last Epoch and Diablo 4. Can't wait for the latter one to come out.

Every year or so i check up a few videos on Aion and i always get emotional remembering the good old days, first computer, first online friends, first mmo, no financial woes, parents together, childhood bliss ...
This is not the real Aion Classic I played years ago. i kept playing aion since 1.5 until nowadays, and this version for me particularly, was good in the past, i feel that today's games need to be more dynamic, fast etc. for me it's definitely not the same experience I had years ago. and so i left classic and stayed in retail in hopes that ncsoft will make good changes in the future. the only cool thing i saw during my evolution in classic was the nostalgia, i reached lvl 50 and i couldn't continue playing, the funny thing is that in the past for me this was amazing but now i prefer the gameplay speed that retail has.

Why don't they just revamp AION 3.0 with new Unreal Engine and fix the bugs ? AION as an MMORPG game is unparalleled but let down by bugs and trash graphics, which is not even that hard to remaster.
Aion Classic is just a last ditch effort to salvage anything left of this lost lamb of a game. Why should you go suffer grinding all over just to have them ruin it again with patches and updates. Waste of time and waste of effort. Played the game for over 5 years, had some decent times but monetary incentives always makes a fun game unplayable. Good job Devs.
Aion is the first MMO i played and i will always remember it fondly but simply returning a game with little to no fixes, same visuals and many, many "free to play" real cash shop items which are bought with money and actually needed free is hellish...

I was looking forward to Aion Classic (remastered is a better name). It's the old game with quality of life improvements that make for a better experience. 1 week in and i'm lvl42 enjoying some rifts/dungeons. Fk the daeva pass though, rewards are shit for the 30euros it costs.
Ahh, this game... Gave me so many happy memories with my college friends. Games before gave so much happy memories because we don't only play the game but we live and love with it. We even dream with it when we sleep. The excitement of looking forward for tomorrow to play the game with your friends is just amazing. But now it's different. It's fast paced. It's mobile. People move on with their lives. Now I'm a sad adult, stuck in responsibilities, bills and broken relationships.
9 euro /mo + pay2win elements, sucks, this game was made in 2005/6/7/8, a dead game with many vulnerabilities against cheats..., not many ppl will stay playing this Aion was nice in 2009, 2010, but in 2023 is outdated, its nice to play the nostalgia, but not as main rpg...
Classic version, we started, and it's truly a shame how such a beautiful game can be ruined by such an incompetent company, considering we've seen how they managed to sink a game with the potential to be the best MMORPG in the world by far in 15 years, still plagued by the same issues from 15 years ago, with no improvements whatsoever!
No surprise to me, I knew you first from Aion. I was curious about what they did with Aion. I joined it when it first went free to play in the UK. Some of the areas are beautiful to look at. I stopped playing when it went to Aion 6, just before that it had got crazy and the game put such a strain on systems with crashes occuring so many times it was becoming unplayable and the pvp got too much. Think I may give this another try, broke my heart to leave it after all the years of work I had put into it.
It's bad for them to have a f2p for 1 hour and a sub fee it just looks and feels weird honestly they should just make it a sub based game period full stop. I wanted to try this game back in the day when it came out but none of my irl friends wanted to so I never did. I don't plan to play here but that structure of 1 hour of premium then you're a peasant is literally a quit moment for new players and just a spit in the face lol. Just make a sub if ur game is good people will sub.
Sad to see they replicated the siel energy membership like na did which made me quit that and was hoping for a normal gameplay without regular gameplay restrictions but goodluck to those out there. Shoutout to greysmdl you're the homie if you see this ❤

@@kiriup8188 Classic is just better on all fronts. Much more active player base as well but only on the EU servers. Retail AION isn't really worth playing. They gutted retail AION a long time ago and classic basically brings back everything they removed

Im trying to download aion for the past 2daysb but ncsof launcher wont open. Every time i click NCLauncher 2, it opens the loading mini window and then it closes without any reason. I re-installed it and it does the same. flash for 1 sec in the bar and disapear Anyone knows what is the problem?
I just wish they upgraded graphics. Everything else is nostalgic. but i want just a little bit of more modern style. Glad that new class in na doesnt look like the painter and that their animations are adapted to aion graphics

@@vinniebosch maybe they talking about scrolls and foods and potions, but you can craft those as the gear as well. So all the pay to win thing if is becouse of those is verry stupid. Those are not pay to win you either farm kinah or craft them yourself. And siel pass well people forget about aion having gold pack need it in order to trade and not be limited. So siel pass is also montly and besides is way cheeper then what a gold pack was.
Aion is stupid im sorry. All they have to do is make a legit aion 3.0 Use the nice new Unreal graphics make it after the perivous games and change the tab target to action and they will pretty much have a huge player base that isn't going anywhere unless they do Pay2win like always >.>
