Approaches into Martinique Island are quite fantastic. Most of the time the flights from Europe overfly the island from North-East to Southeast before turning base and final runway 10. Sometimes, weather and traffic permitting, pilots even perform very impressive short approaches.
This is possibly my favourite approach video ever. The aircraft (A340-300) is simply awesome. The weather was perfect with very clear air that day, allowing us to see some of the island's most characteristic shapes: La Caravelle, Le Diamant's Rock, Fort-de-France's bay and many more. As usual, the pilots performed a right downwind before turning base shortly after passing Les Trois-Ilets. All the conditions were there to shoot an amazing video!
