Gorgeous flying! I like planes and sites that can handle power flying (speed and momentum), and not just thermal floating. And I like the style of the pilot -- getting up speed, then maintaining energy through the choice of maneuvers. Great shots!

Sehr geiles Video. Da passt einfach alles. Musik, Modelle, Schnitt und der Flugstil. Es ist schon erstaunlich wieviel Festigkeit man in so einem Modell bei relativ wenig Gewicht reinbekommt.

That's easily in the 200mph range of speed. Easily. The size of the glider is what makes the speed seem lower. Excellent job with the flying and on the video!

nice music and great flying! would have preferred to watch this video without the music though. I really enjoy those "swwwwwWWWOOOOOOOOSH!" sounds the craft makes as it zooms past you after an unpowered dive. That to me is the best "music" on can ever hear!

@rockyabq bear in mind that those DS'ing planes haven't got wingspans of 7metres+ ;) the bigger the model,the slower it looks

Lots of comments regarding the claim of 330 km/h. So please settle the question for us, TheQuarky... Upon what is the estimated or measured speed based? Radar? Some kind of GPS recording telemetry? Visual estimates by pilot or witnesses? We need some meat here. Take care, Rocky

@TheQuarky Usually with these planes wings will flutter and brake at speeds over 220 km/h for sure... but these lowpasses do look slightly over 170 km/h to me but still within the save zone (no flutter, only wing flexing because of the dive). It certainly doesn't look like 330km/u to me though. Did you measure the actual speed????

An alle die meinen dass das keine 330 km/h waren, kann ich des besseren belehren. Es waren 330 km/h.! Wer das Modell und den Piloten kennt, weiß was in diesem Flugzeug steckt. Also nicht schätzen oder negativ schreiben, wenn man es nicht weiß.

@TheQuarky Take a look at the videos of dynamic soaring where speeds reach 330 km/h and more (verified by radar). There's no comparison. This scale sailplane looks about like a car passing on the freeway at 100 km/h. Not much more.

Mit den unterschiedlichen Frequenzen des Segler-Pfeifens vor und nach dem Vorbeiflug kann man auch die Geschwindigkeit ermitteln... ich schätze 250 vielleicht :D

nope das waren keine 330 km/h :P 330 das wäre etwa doppelt so schnell und die Struktur würde das nicht mitmachen. 330 überlegt mal, was da für Kräfte in dem Abfangbogen vorm Überflug herrschen würden. Das hällt der dünnte Flügel nicht aus!

@rockyabq Ha ha ha, I don't think you know what are you talking about. Do you own any big scale sailplane? my 4.4M,16 lbs Salto goes 157mph( radared) on the flat field, those 7M with SLS you see on the video AUW maybe at 50lbs, on the slop 330km/h is under statement.
